Not sure as to which model lp500 your referring to, but mine has a horizontal sliding button above the trigger for dry firing. Cocking level is open and closed, nothing sticking up.

You are almost in the 90's, now to target a certain part of your shooting process and specifically be conscious of it and work on improving it or repeating it the same way each time for each shot. Breathing, bringing the front sight on target, blinking, grip and tension, arm movement to control wobb...

Just take 10shots and don't look at the target until you change it out. Make each shot as perfect as can be. I wouldn't hold the Pistol up for more than 5 seconds though, think I am 3-4 seconds once the pistol leaves the rest until the shot is either made or aborted.

+1 on ProTek for unsupported Walther products... Along with Waltherarms.com, they scrounged up a few obsolete parts for me.
