Re: Anschutz 1413 Super Match Stock *New Price*

- Any model 54 action should be able to be dropped into the stock?

- It has been glass bedded?

Thank you.

Re: 300m Free rifle

300 meter rifle is kind of passe' these days. It hasn't been a Olympic sport for decades. NRA mid-range, and long range may be a substitute, but the rules changes this year allowing optics on all but Palma rifles. Also anything goes for the caliber as well. If you are oriented to prone, your best be...

Re: 5 BOD Members Added To USA Shooting

Do three of these people lack any competitive shooting experience at ALL? Certainly none is noted in their bios and while I respect business people, some domain knowledge is a good thing for a Director of ANYTHING. Unless old age has taken a toll on my reading comprehension, I only see that one of ...

Re: calculating correct insert size

I've scanned this thread. A key piece of information missing is what size front globe are you using? Also, what type/manufacture is the globe? I was recently shooting a Palma match, and a friend of mine had inserts up to 7.4mm. He was using these inserts in a 30mm right sight. I believe he said he p...

Re: Industry - Summary of Proposed 2017-2020 ISSF Rules Chan

Pertinent part of a response I received from Gary Anderson: Thanks for contacting me with your question about the proposed 130 mm butt-stock lower limit. This proposal represents another small line in the continuing battle with rifle manufacturers over technological doping. This was introduced beca...

Re: Industry - Summary of Proposed 2017-2020 ISSF Rules Chan

Think about the 130 mm for AR stocks. Probably no current wood stock would pass. This might explain Anschutzs' new stock design. Also what about someone with big hands, half their hand would not be griping anything. 50m rifle has the same 130mm below centerline of the bore restriction between the b...

Re: Hap Rocketto for NRA BOD

It would be great to get a list of the really competition friendly people running for BOD. If we are to save our sport we need people on the board that see things our way. On the other forums, the following names have been floated as BOD candidates who are competitive shooters: Hap Rocketto Rich Ku...

Re: Postal competitions?

The VT Winter Postal League is well worth your consideration. Peter does a wonderful job running it. If I had more reliable access to a range, I would not hesitate to participate. Spending time across multiple states an impediment.

Re: 6br 300m & NRA Midrange Anschutz Precise

I agree with Corning that you may want to look at a different sight for your purposes. Besides the durability question, the adjustments on the Anschutz sight are just too fine for this type of shooting in my opinion, and too easy to get lost in the wind. Durability shouldn't be an issue. Multiple p...

Will the Anschutz sights handle the recoil, or should you consider a more "robust" set of rear sights?

Re: How much does shooting matter to a school like MIT?

It probably would not hurt to try to either call, or e-mail/mail the coach and ask those questions. The coach would be able to tell you what, if any incentives they had to get shooters to apply, and what they do to retain them. Good luck!

Re: pistol ammo in a small bore rifle?

Years ago (30+), I shot some "blue box" Eley pistol ammunition instead of Club, which was in short supply, at the time. It shot well. The only thing I really remember about the pistol ammo was that it was a greasier lube than the rifle ammo.

Ah-ha! It is one of the filters/blockers I am using on my browser. The filter/blocker screens out the facebook buttons, logos, and plug-ins. I guess I would consider that a good thing :-)

Bob Smalser: Is that a Kenyon trigger on the Winchester? Nice. As mentioned, the 52E has a recoil lug. Coincidentally, I have a 1952 Hammerli .22 free rifle that does have a recoil lug. It is a bit different from the 52E. http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/ss169/corning/hammerli/20141008_172823_zps8...

Re: Smallbore coaches near Northern New Jersey

I comment/lurk over on the national match forum too. I watched them get hooked and pursue some rigs. Smallbore and high power are similar, but at the same time different, especially from a smallbore rifle to a service rile. A match rifle can at least have the same or a similar sight set up, giving t...

Jon, You should take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the postal league that Peter is running. It will be a wonderful opportunity to "twiddle and fiddle" with your position fundamentals, and the rifle adjustments. Although I have never shot service rifle, I have shot high pow...

Re: Smallbore coaches near Northern New Jersey

Hi Jon. When I was actively shooting in the Hudson Valley, there was the Delaware and Hudson league shot at West Point. I thought there was a Cherry "something" team from NJ that competed in that league. I am not sure what the status of that league is now. Have you tried any of your fellow...
