Re: Izzy woes

Recently, I got hold of another Izzy for comparison purposes. 2x Izzy.jpg The amount of movement allowed by the slot in the bolt bar is identical in both guns so that checks out ok. I also got a PM from a nice chap saying that his bar was pretty much the same as the pic I posted but it's nice to get...

Izzy woes

My IZH-46M Izzy has been poorly for a while. It suffers from a rolling and intermittent combination of not cocking, compressing, leaking and drooping bolt block. I've never worked out whether it's got one overarching problem or a few minor ones in combination. To start with, the bolt block doesn't g...

Re: Izh 46(M) breech block

Thanks Gwhite. I checked out a few places online including some in Poland but nobody lists valve seals unfortunately. I got my hands on a clubmate's Izzy a couple of days ago and the spring tension for the breech block seemed much stronger on it. It wasn't a side by side comparison so maybe not 100%...

Re: Izh 46(M) breech block

Thanks for the info.

Looks like my Izzy has just become a paperweight/ornament until the world returns to some sort of normality. A crying shame as it stands head and shoulders above my other (admittedly older) 10m pistols and suited my skill level and needs perfectly.

Re: Izh 46(M) breech block

@UnGe, I've got similar problems with my Izzy - breech block not staying up and hit or miss compression with varying fps on the times it does hold air. Cocking the breech block manually doesn't make much difference to the cocking process but a violent pump of the charging lever does get the valve to...

Re: Hammerli 480 K2 - should I?

A successful swap with both parties happy about the transaction. 480 K2.jpg Thanks again guys for your views on this pistol, there's not a lot of info anywhere for these pistols so your take on things (along with another helpful chap's input) swayed me into having a punt on this little known gun. Ch...

Re: Hammerli 480 K2 - should I?

Thanks for your input guys.

These seems like a coin toss job but I'm leaning towards taking a gamble on it so I think I'll press ahead with the swap.
I'll let you know how I get on in the coming weeks.

Cheers,
Brimfire.

Hammerli 480 K2 - should I?

Hi folks. I've been offered a Hammerli 480 K2 which looks in pretty good condition and shoots well. It has two removable cylinders, one perfect and airtight, the other with a slow leak from somewhere although I don't know at this point if it only leaks while it's off the pistol and is ok while on it...

In my case, Thomas Rink asked if I could send over my cocking lever piece so he could scan it for future reference with the promise of one to match my new grip FOC. Very pleased with that.

Re: Rink grip sizes

Worked out how to post pics so here's one of my Rink gripped Izzy. Izzy Rink profile copy.jpg With my club's ranges being closed, I haven't managed that many shots with it yet but some quick and dirty targets are looking like an instant improvement and it feels much better in every way over the stan...

Re: Air Pistol Range Bag / Toolkit

I got a letter from the NRA today, hoping for a donation. They said they'll send me a range bag free. I use a gun case that is a foam-lined briefcase. In it I put my gun, pellets, glasses box, and inner/outer scoring gauges. Under the foam I have a piece of coarse sandpaper for tweaking my grips. I...

Re: Rink grip sizes

The Postman's been! Just received my XL Walnut grip and it's a beauty! It bolted straight on with no issues and is such a leap forward from the standard grip. My first impressions are that it feels comfortable and natural and, although I haven't started playing with it yet, the palm shelf adjustment...

Re: Rink for Baikal 46-M Grip Question

Just got my Rink grip so I broke out the very near calipers and measured the distance between the top edge of the rearsight blade to my hand. The standard grip came in at 33.5mm and my new Rink gave 31.6mm. Barely 2mm of difference. I did take some photos to illustrate this but I'm still a stranger ...

My Rink grip is currently winging its way from Germany. When/if it gets through post Brexit Customs I'll be happy to help with dimensions, etc.

Thank you very much for your replies and experiences. I've posed this question on a few forums (including a quite well known target forum in the UK) and this is by far the best response. Seems a lot more people Stateside are willing to help fellow enthusiasts out and share information. Combined with...

Rink grip sizes

First off, Hi, how y'all doing? New member here in Scotland with a question I can't get a definitive answer to on UK based Forums. I'm about to click "Buy" on a set of Rink Grips for my IZH-46M. I'm no great shakes at working with wood so carving the standard grips is out and, as they're n...
