If figure that if they're fooling around with this, they're not Olympic shooters anyway.
True. The Olympic shooters probably have someone test the ammo for them…

Re: Air pistols used at the Olympics?

Benelli's apparently still make some great 25M pistols . . . and even an 10 M Air pistol So what's the deal with the stabilizer? Thought that was only for Olympic recurve bows. 1. Physical attributes? 2. Is it legal? 3. Equipment control: Would it fit "in the box"? http://i.imgur.com/TPA4...

93-3x 91-2x 91-1x 90-1x 89-1x 89-1x 543-8x These are the best six targets of the month. LP-10 Meisterkugeln Cape Gun Works, Hyannis, Massachusetts USA (while the guy in the next lane is blasting a 10mm or something equally percussive) My second month, this is fun! I write this with no ill intention...

Re: Standing...

A further leaning-like problem is whether more on the heels or the toes. Again, advised to distribute equally. However, in your natural standing, it is almost never equal. For me, being on the heels renders one very static, maybe stable at first but not able to respond to the wobble as the operatio...

Re: Standing...

Hi to all, We also see many top athletes leaning a bit backwards. Yet, many instructive materials just talk about distributing weight equally on both foot, implying that this will give the best balance. For me, this hardly seems to be the case when I am holding a pistol with 90 degrees angle to my ...

Re: Standing...

You stance should allow for two things: - comfort (avoid neck/shoulder strain) - stability (minimum arc of movement) You need to find a stance which will let you be as stable as possible and be comfortable for the duration of a match+sighters. Only you can decide what that is. But I would say that m...

Re: Newbie shooting question

Man, you need to concentrate only for 5 secs. That is it. Then repeat again. ADHD does not matter and will not matter. 5 sec of concentration will barely get you started IMHO. I’d say that for a properly executed shot the time requiring full concentration is about 25-35 seconds. - 10-15 sec prepara...

Still dreaming of when that will happen. Even when shooting 570+ I’m still shooting 8’s……would be soooo satisfying to get all shots within the 9…

Re: Air Pistol Trigger Timing vs Area of Aim

As you know…the whole point of trigger technique is to pull the trigger without the front sight moving…..how you pull the trigger doesn’t matter as long as you can achieve that. But the general opinion among all top pistol shooters I’ve heard talk about it seem to be that this is done by squeezing t...

Sius electronic software

Hi! At the club we have Sius electronic targets and the Sius Data software. No one really knows how to use the software and I’m basically the only active shooter that competes. I have taught myself how to start and do a competition, but I can’t seem to be able to view old competitions. Does anyone k...

Re: No budget constraints

Does it matter more or less than a 200 microsecond difference in barrel time? If you’re one of the big dogs and you’re head to head for first and second place in the finals of the olympic games, then yes, a 200 microsecond difference in barrel time can cost you a decimal point, leaving you to take ...

thanks indeed, I will start little by little. These comments really motivate me. I guess you know the real basics: - focus on front sight (during whole shot) - sight alignment is WAY more important than a steady hold You could take a score card and cut away ring 8-10, leaving a black hole the size ...

Re: newbie in the club - help wanted

Havent made much progress since then. I am not disciplined, I smoke and drink coffee during shooting, start live fire without any warm up. Waste quite some pellets and energy before starting to make a descent a shot. Still dont have a consistent grip or triggering— mostly experimenting. I am usuall...

Re: Prepping the trigger

That's probably a good call. My weight is for calibrating scales so I'm pretty sure it's accurate, but you're probably right that someone else could think the exact same thing. I'll tack on a few coins or something. I have mine set at 540-ish. That way I have a some margin. At Swedish Nationals the...
