Re: New kid on the block

I know this is an old thread but another difference between the SIG and the FAS is the warranty. SIG offers a 5 year warranty and FAS only 1. That might say something about the quality of the build?? maybe? One other comment that I picked up on and will mention, the new P210 is not as precise at the...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

I forgot all about them. I have a whole set of bike tools that I don't use anymore. I went and dug through them. The green ones fit the FAS end cap. My threads are very tight. Thanks. BTW I pronounce it "FAZ 6004". Seems as most spell the letters out. On another note has anyone recently co...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

Just to be clear I'm referring to the screw in End Cap, (part 14 that is called the Ring Nut?)

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

Okay, made that. Now is there a special tool/claw that fits into the 2 slots to open the piston up or can that be home made? I hate to keep bothering you but there is so little out there.

BTW my wife laughed re overthinking things. She says I drive her nuts sometimes.

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

Thanks again. Might you provide a photo of this tool you made? As for over thinking it, being retired 85% the answer is 100% yep. The piston work might be beyond me. I'm still waiting for the chrono to get a reading on where the gun is now. Then I'll decide what I might do. I do like it and off hand...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

I was thinking about all the talk regarding getting more FPS out of the 6004. What no one seems to have addressed, or I missed, is the maximum volume of air that the piston can actually compress, which if I'm right gives a physical limit to the speed of the pellet. Has anyone addressed this more spe...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

I have a question regarding C-clip removal. I've done this on cars motorcycles and larger items. Is there a tool for the tiny piston C-clip removal or some special incantation to prevent scratching and ruining the finish?

Thanks,

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

Re oils Thanks again all of you. I'm waiting for the accessory lamps for my chronograph so I can get the pellet speed. Otherwise it is a fun shooter. I dialed in as best I can with iron sights at 10M. Even with shooting glasses, the proper diopter powered lens added and iris it's still not as tight ...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

I have TSI 301 and the grease recommended by FAS. There was a thread regarding flushing the TP with WD 40 here or on another site to clean the TP out. Since I'm not familiar with all the workings of this gun, and the associated lack of manufacturing supplied data, I'm gathering up data on procedures...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

I wondered about all that. Many Thanks. I ordered one as well as a rail. One other question that you or someone might choose to answer: flushing the TP and cleaning the piston. What is the procedure? What gets disconnected or removed? Generally what is the whole and proper process to undertake this....

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

ordered an A5.

I talked to John at BHM or B&M yesterday. Interesting guy. W both had a few Don Nygord stories to swap. By weak, would be more specific? PM if you feel it would be more politic.

Thanks,

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

BTW I have the gun and yes the paint job is not the greatest. I used to be a model maker (wooden ships), worked in a body shop, studied art and spotted the 2nd string quality. I did undertake the fixes and seal exchange. It ain't a Steyr but I knew that going in. It fits well and it is fun. I notic...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004

I've just ordered a 6004. Does everyone have issues with this gun ? I'm prepared to work some of the fixes if necessary. Has anyone sent the gun back to the manufacturer or the local rep to get these things taken care of? Just wondering on that and if so the result, good, bad or indifferent. I haven...

Re: TOZ-35M differenes in grading

The cert book does seem to have a section on page 10 that describes the spread for the shots and such. The Soviets were strong into Olympic shooting and these guns were for the farm teams as I understand. The Russian Federation is not as centered on the sport especially since it's not an Olympic spo...

TOZ-35M differenes in grading

Doe any know what the grading criteria is for the grading of the TOZ-35 might be between X and V? would it welds, bluing, grip screw hole locations, what? Specifically? Also does anyone know how to get an a copy of the certification (see page 10 of your cert. booklet) for each gun if it did not come...

Re: TOZ-35M Fore End screw pitch and all that

Thanks to both of you. I figured that on needing parts. Older guns have that issue. I purchase spares for my Sig P210-6 when they show up NOS preferred. But at least and for the most part, the part numbers are the same and the parts are the same, the slide stop being an example of not the case betwe...

TOZ-35M Fore End screw pitch and all that

I purchased a Toz-35 that needs some help. The fore end screw and associated threads need some cleaning. I was wondering the specs for all that and chasing the threads.

Thanks,
