Re: Suggestions for Airline Rifle Cases

I bought a Pelican 1750 for my smallbore silhouette rifle and it's been great. I've raveled across the country (plus down to Mexico) half a dozen times so far and not a single worry. Quadruple lock positions means no one is getting in there without tearing the entire case apart. Highly recommended!...

Re: FWB 600 shooting high

Its probably designed to have a short riser in the front, I find that the sight globes often come much shorter and require a riser even if none is used in the rear, if the rifle is functioning correctly and grouping properly, I would say you're probably okay. One thing i've done and helps, is to adj...

Re: Sight Raiser Help

You're right then Tim If golf's already on target. I read it and assumed it was a shots off target, lets start from the beginning type issue. But Bob also makes a good point. Now that I think about it, I don't think 6 inches of added sight radius would really change a whole lot for riser adjustment,...

Re: Sight Raiser Help

I also run a KK with a long starik tube (38cm). I if I recall correctly, my rear and front risers are the same height, the front might be slightly taller. I shoot 50 feet and outdoors occasionally and haven't had an issue. You might want to try lowering the front rather than raising the rear. If you...

Re: Anschutz vs KK500

Walther dosen't do a very good job of selecting the right hardware in my opinion. All of the action screws are far too small making them very easy to overtorque and strip, or even break. There are 5 to distribute the load but still. I've drilled out a few in other peoples guns before. Just be caref...

Re: some advice please

I second Tim's advice, In addition front aperture size largely depends on barrel length. the longer sight radius the larger aperture required usually. I shoot 50 foot indoor (Ncaa) and I have a very large sight radius. I use a 4.8 because of this but have used as large as a 5.2. For air rifle in gen...

Re: Anschutz vs KK500

Love my KK500, I have personally seen 3 KK500 firing pins break (mine twice). Never broken one in an Anschutz. Its worth it in my opinion though, I just carry a spare with me. The electronic trigger kk's are much better than the mechanical trigger kk's. And be careful with the action screws.

Re: Anschutz 9015 ONE Precise Cheek piece Adapter

You could just change the torx to hex cap screws for a couple of dollars. [/quote] Yeah I really don't know why I haven't offered yet, I always keep that stuff on hand anyway since it seems like few understand the concepts of mechanical sympathy. Guns being shipped with "all in one" tools ...

Re: Anschutz 9015 ONE Precise Cheek piece Adapter

That torx change has been occasionally really annoying for my teammate, especially since it means she cant use the same wrenches for small bore and air gun. She also has ESP risers meaning she has to have a 7/64ths wrench in the box as well. I agree that there is a lot of potential with the stock, i...

Re: Standing Left Hand Morphology

You can raise your natural point of aim by widening your stance, you can bring your support hand in a little closer too. Raising the buttplate can also help, but will also mess with your head position so I wouldn't go to extreme with that adjustment. There is also a company "aim the sports stud...

Re: Anschutz 9015 ONE Precise Cheek piece Adapter

I'm an FWB shooter, so I really haven't put any serious time in with a ONE stock. A draw back on the stock is it really doesn't have any real rail space. Doesn't really matter for 60 shot standing, but for anything else, it wont work. It also means we have to make some special accommodations to ammo...

Re: Anschutz 9015 ONE Precise Cheek piece Adapter

I completely agree, especially with the relative rarity of ONE stocks, but it would be a waste to not put it out there. At the very least spur some discussion on custom rifle modifications.

Re: Anschutz 9015 ONE Precise Cheek piece Adapter

Here's a couple photos of the prototype adapter installed. Unfinished but fully functional. I plan on finishing it in a week or two after the NCAA season ends. I do also have a few updates to the design in mind. I'm going to update the front guide surface the cheekpiece rides on. currently the adapt...

Re: Anschutz 9015 ONE Precise Cheek piece Adapter

It is just a gauge interest post, but in initially didn't post any with it as I was kind of under a time crunch to get it out the door so a teammate could use it in her match, so taking pictures wasn't really on my mind. The current prototype out in the world is fully functional, but relatively crud...

Anschutz 9015 ONE Precise Cheek piece Adapter

Hi all, Just trying to gauge some interest. Recently I designed an adapter allowing Anschutz 9015 ONE shooters to switch to the use of the Anschutz precise cheek piece. I did this for a friend and she loves the adapter saying it greatly improved the feel of the gun and solved the main gripe she had ...

Re: Comparing Tier One Air Rifles

Yeah you do see them, they are quite popular rifles, and for good reason, like I said I do like the action a lot. But one thing to take note of is all though you see them in ISSF finals, its pretty common for them to have an after market or homemade cheek piece. Of course, that really doesn't matter...

Re: Comparing Tier One Air Rifles

I really like mine and they can be had cheap. And I’m also not saying the others are lesser, I just found for me, that the fwb has the best value and basically everything i was looking for. The only reason I’ve gone through so many air guns at this point, was because when i was looking at them i was...

Re: Comparing Tier One Air Rifles

I can only speak on 3 of those makes from personal experience, for me I think the 800x is the best and its what I shoot now. The reason is the adjustability of the stock with the relative reliability of the action. The best ammo tests I have seen have been out of FWB's too. I have owned a 9003 which...
