Re: 3-d printed scoring plugs?

In my experience, FDM 3d printing alone is not accurate enough to make score plugs. I only have experience with FDM printing, but RESIN 3d printing MIGHT be accurate enough... The USA50 score plugs I made and sold were FDM 3d printed a few thousands oversize and then formed/cut down to size using th...

Re: Tec-HRO Fanatic Forearm Width

Another option to increase the forearm width or change the corner radius is a bolt-on forearm section. I've made a few for guys that preferred the height and corner radius feel of an 1813-style forearm over their Precise stocks. The last one I made was for a Fanatic stock. Depending how you orient y...

Re: Training Facility // Richmond Virginia

I don't have any 1st hand understanding of the area. Have you tried using the National Shooting Sports Foundation's "Where to Shoot" search tool? https://www.nssf.org/shooting/where-to-shoot/ USA Shooting has a similar tool. It shows a range west of DC in Centerville, VA. https://afc-iwla-...

Re: Reasonable expectations air rifle

If I did the math correctly, then the bottom table shows the aiming deviation angle from center to achieve each score with a bullet that just contacts the ring. Assumed 0.224" HP bullet and 0.177" pellet... Roughly, - a HP 200yd standing 10 is an air rifle 9 - a HP 200yd standing 9 is an a...

Re: Tuner Tube: Do I adjust for 50yd, 100yd, or both?

I normally do it using the positive compensation method. Here are a couple videos that Starik did explaining the method. Re: Where to find outdoor smallbore upcoming events???

Many local clubs run unaffiliated matches, so it's always worth looking at their websites. Otherwise... ASSA - lists all known matches regardless of affiliate, but it's incomplete... Scroll to the bottom of the page until you see a calendar. That's it. https://www.americansmallbore.com/championship-...

Maybe minutes 1:20 - 1:53 of this video from Guy Starik will help you align the shroud for reinstallation.

Re: Air Rifle Tuner

Moonlight - the Tec Hro unit IS an air rifle tuner (not rimfire)

Tuners adjust the barrel harmonics. So while an air rifle has much less/lower excitation force(s) than a 22 rimfire, there are some. Is an air rifle tuner worth it? Maybe, maybe not.

Re: SCATT for a Mac person

@porkchop, I'm no IT expert, but I do know that an obsolete operating system (i.e. Windows XP, or 7) alone isn't a reason for a computer not to work. That said, obsolete operating systems are no longer supported with security updates/patches. That means they are (extra) susceptible to viruses and ma...

Soft rifle case recommendations?

I'm looking for recommendations for a soft rifle case that would close with an assembled free rifle inside (60-65" long). I'm fortunate to have very close access to an indoor range, so I'm shooting at least once a week. I'd like to leave the rifle assembled to avoid the wear and tear of repeate...

Pretty much any modern laptop or PC is capable of operating the Scatt software. I've setup 2 systems using sub-$200 laptops. Just make sure the selected computer exceeds these minimum requirements SmartSelect_20230124_142510_Chrome.jpg Here's a link to the Scatt software and driver download links. B...

Re: Scope for training

A Scatt will help you much more. It will show you all of your movement leading up to, during, and after the shot, plus it will show where the gun really was pointed (i.e. poor sight alignment, ect).

A scope can help but comes with its own baggage.
