Hammerli 150/162

Sir, If the two were of near-identical physical conditions, I would recommend taking the slight disadvantage of a less finger-comfort-adjustable 150 over the 162, if you have long fingers and/or get to try the reach. That said, do please be aware that the early 150s came with horrendous rounded, non...

Tycho, A bit off subject topic; but please consider helping. A friend's Hammerli 162 has stopped working. A TT posting netted the part numbers needed for its conversion to mechanical trigger, supplied by another helpful TT poster. However, an inquiry to Hammerli's factory service website has been un...

Help for Hammerli 162

A friend's electronic trigger Hammerli 162 has stopped working; he is currently looking at various options. Mr. Bob Ledoux, who has benefitted the TT column with his complete fix of the Walther FP, has offered to take a look at the the 162's electronics. However, before choosing to fix it electronic...

2012 NRA Indoor International Pistol Sectional near Colorado

Both Grand Junction and Denver failed to file papers in time to host the subject match for 2012.
Would sponsors in near-by States please post theirs in the Calender?
Thank you very much and a merry Christmas to all fellow paper punchers.

calendar

You have hit on an excellent idea for those of us who would like to know about matches in neighboring areas and perhaps participate in some of them. I do hope that the match sponsors will take advantage of it and post their upcoming matches.
Thank you very much.

Hammerli light hits

Sir,
Some years ago, I bought 5 spare 150/152 firing pin springs. They have never been put into a gun. They measure .049" wire diameter, .198" OD, and OALs of 1.275, 1.285", 1.293, 1.300", and 1.305"; both ends are ground square. Hope this helps.

Additional thoughts on truncated triangular sights

First of all, I would like to thank Mr. Paulo Andrade for his time and help in posting the pictures. The additional challenges I allured to with Mr. Kraft's proposal of using truncated dissimilar equilateral triangles would be for the shooter to acquire equal daylight on both sides of the front sigh...

Walther factory support

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to report one personal experience with the Walther FP that happened in the '80s. When my then one-and-only Walther FP repeatedly failed in various fashions requiring frequent air-shipments back to Germany for repairs; and not willing to reinvest the untold number o...

Walther, Having worked with various grades of Loctite and similar thread-locking stuff now-and-then since back in their early days, I would ask you to please be very careful with its application. The stuff is pretty fuzzy with the condition of its base metal; a tad oily and (Loctite) 222 remains run...

Susan, I do not have the TOZ exploded drawing and its parts list handy. So, please bear with me with my terminology of the trigger assembly's parts. The three parts in that assembly are intimately connected together. Looking from the rear sight towards the muzzle, the "little finger" on yo...

lever spring exception

The accelerator spring is the exception to easily substitueable lever spring. I have seen 1 broken one; and heard of 2 others. The early factory-installed ones had 4 tabs on the bottom, supporting the mounting screw, and somewhat limiting how tight it can be tightened down. The later version does no...

And, I did declare that I was transporting firearms ----- getting me to the TSA terminals. The red-tag was locked inside an aluminum guncase which was locked inside the everyday-looking suitcase together with a 2nd red-tag.

Elliot,
Last year I did that, Denver/Atlanta, the TSA people did not check if my cylinders were empty.
In fact, both check-in TSA terminals did not even open my gun case. I had the locked gun case double-packed in a locked suitcase I bought for $5 in a thrift store.

Ladies and Gentlemen, As a tax-paying citizen, I have absolutely no desire to stop paying a portion of my taxes even if I were to NOT like NASA or some of their catastropic failures. To me, it is both a means of National pride and hope for the future. Even though a very low average international pis...

Relative lead contamination levels

Ladies and Gentlemen, Kindly please help me to locate any available information regarding the subject matter for AP and FP; given the same degree of shooter awareness (clothing/shoes isolation, hand-washing, etc.). Has anyone done any estimation on, say, the lead contimination from firing a round of...

Sir, For the 65, you will need to cut a metric allen wrench short to reach the mounting screws inside the grip frame. I think it is a 3 mm rather than a 4 mm wrench. The front mounting screws also tend to strip from your screw driver bit; please be careful with them. After lubing the rails, during r...

Mark, I, too, have a LPM-1 and the cocking effort was getting harder and harder until I greased the rollers and pivot points. I would have suffered the same fate had I not done that. If you should decide to TIG weld the broken lever back together per "TopEnd", I can get you in touch with m...
