Hammerli 208/215s pressure plunger

I am going to replace some springs and need to replace the pressure plunger because it's chewed up on the outer screw slots. I had the hardest time adjusting the trigger because of this, the hex head inner screw is in good shape. I haven't done this before and want to know if it is as simple as scre...

Re: Anyone still using CO2 match pistols

Thanks Dave, I'm still leasing a 25lb tank of CO2 from the welding shop. Those 20 lb fire extinguishers are pricey, I wouldn't know if my adapter would fit on the hose. I'll send you a pm.

Re: Anyone still using CO2 match pistols

Dave, was there a reason you went to CO2 or just because you bought the CPM-1 ?

Re: Anyone still using CO2 match pistols

I'm still shooting a Steyr LP-1 with CO2, in fact I have new o-ring seals and lube coming this week. My next purchase will be a CA conversion kit for it. I read somewhere about using nitrogen as a gas. If anyone is doing that I'd like to hear from you and how it's working out, it would be very new t...

Re: Steyr LP-1

I was told to check the barrel to frame fit and that is what it was. I had to loosen the rear screw about 1/16th to 1/8th turn and balance out the tension with the front screw. It works perfectly now.

Steyr LP-1

My LP-1 won't fire a pellet. I can bring the cocking lever all the way back and dry fire it, but when I move the slide on top to fire, it will not fire the pellet. I have to hold the cocking lever down to make it fire, it won't seat all the way down. I noticed the bolt has a build up of old dried lu...

Re: Shaking things up, escaping ruts, quantity training — how to stay motivated?

"I started shooting straight lines, instead of circles, made me super aware of my wobble and helped a great deal. Great feeling to punch holes the length of a I inch black line." I never shot on a straight line before, but did holding drills on both vertical and horizontal lines. Is the pu...

Re: FWB Models 2, C5, C10, C55, & C60 cylinder availability

Chris, if I were a cat with 9 lives to use up, I'd be on about 6 now. Some would be a direct result of my stupidity but 2 were resulting from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have matured some as I aged, but still catch myself thinking stupid in time to say stop. I like the Darwinian Aw...

Rear notch depth

I can make the rear notch on my Steyr LP1 shorter is there an advantage to shortening it. I shoot center mass and was wondering why they would make such a feature available? Thank you.

Re: Refreshing or resetting eyes between shots

Greg, I knew the Opthamologist checked my blood vessels in my eyes, but I didn't know what clogged them. To the OP, I was told not to stare or look at the target constantly, only when I'm going to shoot it. Have you tried using lubricating eye drops, the pharmacies have many brands. Don't buy the ki...

Re: Cast Bullet - Home Lube

Bob, that's the stuff use thin coats. I like to put 3 thin lines in the bottom of a 2 or 3 liter plastic container and dump in 200-250 bullets. Swish them around until you get a light coat on them for about 3 minutes or more. Spread them on a tray lined with wax paper and let them dry for a few hour...

Re: Cast Bullet - Home Lube

If you tumble lube, it's hard to beat 45-45-10 lube. I like to apply 2 very light coats, no tackiness, no leading, and no smoke. Let the first coat dry for 12-24 hours before applying the 2nd coat.

Reduced Rapidfire targets

Does anyone know if they make them or where to buy reduced size targets for a shorter range like 50 ft or less. I want to practice Olympic Rapid fire and would like to find some that could have all 5 bulls on it.

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

I agree with Gwhite also, as having your shooting range put restrictions on the high pressure cartridges. If the shooters want to shoot them, then squad them separately when they register for the match. You could have a separate relay just for them if you'd like. You might peeve some off but they ar...
