Re: Better groups on blank target
"You initially stated you shoot better groups on blank target vs. target bull. When you’re aiming at a blank target you do not notice your movement as much as you do with the target bull. Trigger control is normally the culprit. You are probably not maintaining a consistent pull and you are hel...

THat's okay with me, the only sports I like are the shooting sports, track and field, and weight lifting.

I couldn't figure out how to watch Olympic AP anyway, anyone think YouTube will show it. YouTube shows old World Cup matches, I wish they were more recent ones.

Re: Your favorite shot?
Shooting State Championship in Iowa, I was shooting the first slow fire stage in CF. My 1st and 2nd shots were complete misses and I couldn't believe it. I shot the rest on target, when we scored I noticed an extra shot when I was scoring. After investigation I not only shot on both sides of me, I s...

Re: Air Pistol Trigger Timing vs Area of Aim
This is an older Mantis, I'll have to find a way to attach to my Izzy, maybe with a plastic cable tie to the barrel. Any tips on what colour of lines to look for?

Re: Air Pistol Trigger Timing vs Area of Aim
If you REALLY want to see what is going on, you have to to use an electronic trainer. Holes in the paper will only tell a small part of how they got there. A trainer will show you what your hold looks like, how big your minimum wobble is, how long it lasts, and (to some extent) if you are messing t...

Re: MONTHLY AP LEAGUE JUNE 2021
I am here so say that there is a big difference between your best cherry picked score of the month and what you could do on demand. Back when I could shoot 570s in the basement, I went to the Nationals, and turned in a 558 and 560. The stress of travel, being shoulder to shoulder with other people,...

Co2 air pistols
I'm interested in Co2 pistols. What make and models are reliable and still have parts availability ? After talking to Pardini USA they are hit or miss on parts, they say they don't carry parts for those anymore. That's too bad.
Thanks, Stan

Re: 25m pistol
Okay, I see no High Power or Magnum loads allowed. I see no restrictions on bullet type or weight. The other 2 rules, 8.4.4.1 deals with testing and 8.4.4.2 is the only restrictions I could see, being 250 Meters per second or 820 feet per second. I'm thinking 8.4.4.2 is in reference to a .22 caliber...

Re: 25m pistol
Azmodan, I plan to shoot a .38 special revolver for center-fire, is there any restrictions on ammo such as bullet type or weight? I thought a 148 gr. lead wadcutter would be perfect but can't see anything about ammo in the rules. I figure a lot of shooters would prefer a .32 caliber of sorts. Your r...

How about putting wrench in vise and using nonslip gloves to grip cylinder and turn it. Of all the grippiest gloves I've used, my wife's dish washing gloves are the best.

That is a shame seems like the owner of the adjacent property has a lot of cleanup work. The range is pretty much at the mercy of the owners and could be tied up for a long time. I've been to Twin Falls-Jerome area before, and the dairy farmers back then considered big dairy farms 1000 head. Then in...

Rover, I have a IZH 47m and the only thing I can think of lubing would be the cocking lever. What oil or lube would you use on the pivot pins, and is there any other places that need attention. I've been shooting 10 meter for about 2 yrs now, what a fun sport, it's a lot harder than it appears and r...

There have been many similar threads here on this subject. I fail to see why many are opposed to this simple solution: BOX O' RAGS 1) Free 2) No lead dust 3) No noise 4) No cleanup 5) Improves with use 6) Instant disposal or recycle after two cases (not sleeves) of pellets 7) Did I mention FREE I a...

Rover, now that sounds like cheapest and easiest method and when you get a hole in the side of the box, then just get a piece of cardboard to pin target to.

Times are a changing, I'd rather watch the old competitive track and field sports for both men and women and maybe some weight lifting. I've heard when they were first held, the athletes were nude, you can't streamline any more than that. I'd also like to see our sport televised more instead of the ...

I like old black and white films and wished there were more old films on the pistol sports. I like the Advanced Pistol Guide by the AMU, I have it on dvd with great instruction by many AMU shooters and Ray Arrendondo. Wished they had one for the NRA and International disciplines. Stan
