Re: What TIME is AP match Winter Airgun Champ. in CO?

Walter, it seems folks traveling with large scuba tank type bottles can satisfy the folks at that airport by taken off the regulator. I am not sure how to navigate a TSA worker that wants to independently verify an air cylinder that goes on a pistol if he or she does is not satisfied that when the ...

Re: What TIME is AP match Winter Airgun Champ. in CO?

I'm unsure, I'm getting there on the 13th for open practice and equipment control. The details of the event haven't been super well publicized, so I'd contact Jared at USA Shooting for further details (Jared.Esquivel@usashooting.org). Initially they had equipment control scheduled for Nov 29 or some...

Re: Just short of one year progress.

I just started AP in January, and it's been a crazy ride. My scores have plateaued after an injury (physical therapy has really been helping) but I. Hoping to break that 570 barrier soon. Best of luck!

Re: Best pellets for your air pistol?

Hell, you don't need one of these infernal machines. After long and arduous study, Sweet William and myself have determined that the best for your purposes are the .177 pellets. Oh man, I was wondering why my groups were so bad with those .22 ones in my Hammerli! When I angrily called my retailer a...

Re: Looking to get back into air pistol

In regards to the Morini, I have recently switched from a mechanical Evo to the CM 200 and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. I have absolutely no problems with hole alignment (although I'm not sure exactly how this would affect accuracy, and the trigger guard doesn't bother me. The battery issu...

Re: Choosing EVO10 colour - aside personal preference...?

As a serious answer to the original question, if you can see your cylinder while shooting, you're doing something wrong.

I shot a 508 at the CAGP this morning, so I was doing something wrong too.

Re: Anyone here been or going to Canadian Grand Prix?

Once I got in touch with the proper person, it took all of 10 minutes to have my authorization to transport information filled out and submitted. In the end it was pretty simple, I had to call the firearms office for the province (Ontario) and talk to the person there who dealt with non residents. ...

Re: Anyone here been or going to Canadian Grand Prix?

Please, read the CAGP match bulletin. It has links to all you need to know. If your AP is a PCP or CO2 not sold by a Canadian retailer it is over 500fps, and you'll have to do about 10 minutes of work to get all you need. Thanks, I read it a couple of times, but not a ton of information was there f...

Re: Stance When Shooting B/40/4 Targets

I'm certain WRH1 is mental. That's what my wife keeps telling me! In all seriousness, don't overthink it. If its easier for you, just shift one foot and call it good. Heck, maybe dont move at all! All I know is if I keep getting hung up on something, whether its this, my front sight width, grip adj...

Re: Anyone here been or going to Canadian Grand Prix?

Does anyone have any tips on travelling from the US with air pistols? It seems like mine are considered restricted firearms according to Canadian law, owing to the fact that they shoot over 500 fps. Can anyone confirm this? Any agencies I'd need to contact before hand?

Re: Stance When Shooting B/40/4 Targets

The quick answer is yes, move both feet. By only adjusting one foot, you are ever so slightly changing your distance to the target and creating a bit of an angle on your shot. Scoot forward a few inches and you should be fine. It's actually not really enough to make a huge difference, but 10m AP is ...

Re: Walther LP500; any good?

The competitor next to me at a recent tournament told me he really strongly disliked his. But he outshot me by close to 40 points. So there is that. I think he called it a pig. But it was certainly accurate enough, and the ergonomics looked fantastic.

Re: Targettalk Monthly AP league

Thanks for noticing me! That was a new personal best for me; unfortunately I'm dealing with the after effects of the flu, pneumonia, and a ruptured ear drum, so I may not be getting back into the 550's for a while. My balance is all screwed up now, not to mention my tinnitus is now morning after Nin...

Re: Smallbore/air friendly ranges in Colorado and Indiana

Bit of a drive, but Archer shooting complex in Cheyenne has a dedicated airgun/archery range. Great Guns in Nunn is good for shotgun stuff and has a ton of outdoor ranges. Not a ton of stuff in Ft. Collins per se.

Re: Targettalk Monthly AP league

I'm celebrating the 10th anniversary of my 21st birthday this year, so, according to my son, "SOOOOOOO OLD!" I've never shot in a precision or bullseye discipline before, so much of this has been an extremely foreign experience, like acclimating to a new planet. But I'm sad I went so long ...
