Re: Starting new Jr air rifle group
I have been following your thread. It sounds as if you have found a very nice space to work with and I wish you the very best. just be aware of reality (not sour grapes, just experience). Even among established shooters it is hard to get them interested in airguns but airguns have many advantages li...

Re: Using the Hammerlli AR20 for a year
This is a great thread and I have enjoyed reading it. The question of what to buy is one with no absolute answer. The best general response is for one to buy the best they can afford. The analysis here has been thoughtful. I am an old guy and don't shoot that well anymore but my approach has always ...

Re: Reasonable expectations air rifle
I am not as analytical as the above poster however I have shot lots of different disciplines and although I am certainly not a world class shooter my opinion is that 10 meter air rifle is the most difficult one to score will at. The SR high power target is a much easier target to score well on than ...

Re: PCP air compressor recommendation
As you can see, you are getting comments all over the place. How you get your airgun air is really a personal choice. i hand pumped for years and used scuba tanks. You can buy a new pump from China really cheap. You could get a scuba tank for a bit more. You can get a carbon fiber tank for even more...

Re: Shooting Coat Materials
Over the years i have ended up with 5 different jackets. Leather is nice but it is heavy and it can be hot too. I currently use a cheaper jacket just made of fabric and it seems to give me enough support. Some shooting jackets (and Suits) are a combination of materials. Check out Champions Choice ge...

Re: 100 yard Air Rifle Standing
Just because long range air rifle is not my thing or some other peoples' does not mean that you should not post about it here. We don't all like the same stuff but it is still shooting. I personally shoot air field target, 10 meter, and silo but there is some interest in longer range air rifle shoot...

Re: Where to find outdoor smallbore upcoming events???
Crankythunder pretty much nailed it. There are local club matches. i am in lower Bucks county and two clubs I belong to have smallbore prone matches. Some are mostly for members but if you have interest I will check further.

Re: Air Rifle - Front sight aperture size depending on skill
I am currently trying to deal with this issue and am no expert. i asked on this forum and got some advise which so far seems to be correct. from what I have read and been told the aperture size is not dependent on your skill but rather on the distance between your front sight and your eye and I also...

It would be helpful to know where you are and what kind of airgun you want serviced.

Re: Options for a S.E. Pennsylvanian looking to get into 10m Air competitively
I live about a mile north of Phila. so I am right in your area. There are no 10 meter air rifle matches here locally that I know of at the present time, there is however some airgun activity in the local area. Delaware County Field and Stream Assoc. in Brookhaven, PA. has a dedicated airgun range bu...

Re: Cleaning air rifle
Yea there is a commercial product (name escapes me at the moment) but it uses weed eater type cord and the patch fastens to one end. Works well and not real pricey but string is cheaper.

Re: Cleaning air rifle
From the previous posts you are getting the message that you need not clean air rifles much at all. If the accuracy does drop off or you feel the urge to clean it do what I do. Get a piece of string and tie a loop in one end to slip a small cleaning patch in. Then use a vacuum cleaner at the muzzle ...

Shop around. RWS Hobby or RWS Basic are good and fairly inexpensive. I use them and Champions Choice pellets. Again decent but not super pricey.

Re: Jacket vs no jacket and expectations
One of the posts mentions Field Target. i have shot both. A friend says that 10 meter is like high mass. Well then Field Target is more like going out and shooting with your friends but good gear helps you to shoot better there too. You might like FT better. What's Field target? Check out USfieldtar...

Re: Jacket vs no jacket and expectations
I cannot speak to issues as a beginner as I have been shooting all my life and am 78. Do not be discouraged with your shooting. I have shot lots of things and find that 10 meter air rifle is the most difficult to get good scores in. Some other shooting is more physical but not as difficult to score ...

Re: compressors to fill air rifle cylinders ?
Many of these rifles use different adapters and fittings. The compressor you reference has a hose with a female quick connect on both ends. It is also called a foster fitting. You need an adaptor that fits on the end of your air cylinder and has a male foster on the other end of the adapter so it pl...

Re: Help charging my anschutz 8002s2
Sorry I did not see your post sooner. The brass adapter you have will fit a Gehmann or similar hand pump. You can buy an adapter from Parymyd Air or another supplier that screws onto your rifle air cylinder on one end and the other end is a male quick connect. Quick connects are also referred to as ...

Re: 200 yard smallbore
200 yd use to be a regular NRA thing with an official target but not anymore. We do shoot a club match at 50, 100, and 200 yards prone.
I suspect there is little interest since the NRA dropped it long ago.

List everything and put it on Ebay or here. Club level shooters are always looking for inexpensive equipment.
