Re: Optics height
I am not holding myself out as an expert or a great shooter but I can tell you my experience. Height of a scope seems to depend on how you intend to shoot the rifle. Generally shooting in the standing position ( as in silhouette) scopes are typically mounted higher on the rifle. Some shooters even u...

Re: Tank Questions
Your tank on the gun should have an internal check valve so I don't think you would have an issue. As far as getting your tank checked it sounds as if you are talking about the air tube on the gun. If it is detachable it has a date on it and it is not good 10 years after that "born on" dat...

Re: Amazing Exhibition Shots and gun accuracy
They really are good shots. Some of those "feats" are not that difficult to do, but more difficult to do every time. Shooting aspirin tablets at 10 meters is quite doable. I used to shoot muzzle loaders and "splitting the ball" on an axe head and breaking the clay bird on both si...

Re: Your dream 10m range?
I am no a high level shooter however the most important thing in my mind would be lighting. Most indoor ranges have less than great lighting. There are many other considerations as well like ventilation, heating and cooling, ease of maintenance, access, and on and on.

Re: What to do with old precision air/CO2 rifles
What Allen said. They are great rifles for practice for the not so serious shooters. Watch for airgun shows and sell them. Closest to me is Carlisle, PA on May 3. The SSPs and the spring guns will sell. CO2 not so much. Lots of guys repair them. David Slade at airgunwerks Buck Pearson Pilkington of ...

Re: Starting new Jr air rifle group
I have been following your thread. It sounds as if you have found a very nice space to work with and I wish you the very best. just be aware of reality (not sour grapes, just experience). Even among established shooters it is hard to get them interested in airguns but airguns have many advantages li...

Re: Using the Hammerlli AR20 for a year
This is a great thread and I have enjoyed reading it. The question of what to buy is one with no absolute answer. The best general response is for one to buy the best they can afford. The analysis here has been thoughtful. I am an old guy and don't shoot that well anymore but my approach has always ...

Re: Reasonable expectations air rifle
I am not as analytical as the above poster however I have shot lots of different disciplines and although I am certainly not a world class shooter my opinion is that 10 meter air rifle is the most difficult one to score will at. The SR high power target is a much easier target to score well on than ...

Re: PCP air compressor recommendation
As you can see, you are getting comments all over the place. How you get your airgun air is really a personal choice. i hand pumped for years and used scuba tanks. You can buy a new pump from China really cheap. You could get a scuba tank for a bit more. You can get a carbon fiber tank for even more...

Re: Shooting Coat Materials
Over the years i have ended up with 5 different jackets. Leather is nice but it is heavy and it can be hot too. I currently use a cheaper jacket just made of fabric and it seems to give me enough support. Some shooting jackets (and Suits) are a combination of materials. Check out Champions Choice ge...

Re: 100 yard Air Rifle Standing
Just because long range air rifle is not my thing or some other peoples' does not mean that you should not post about it here. We don't all like the same stuff but it is still shooting. I personally shoot air field target, 10 meter, and silo but there is some interest in longer range air rifle shoot...

Re: Air Rifle - Front sight aperture size depending on skill
I am currently trying to deal with this issue and am no expert. i asked on this forum and got some advise which so far seems to be correct. from what I have read and been told the aperture size is not dependent on your skill but rather on the distance between your front sight and your eye and I also...

Re: Options for a S.E. Pennsylvanian looking to get into 10m Air competitively
I live about a mile north of Phila. so I am right in your area. There are no 10 meter air rifle matches here locally that I know of at the present time, there is however some airgun activity in the local area. Delaware County Field and Stream Assoc. in Brookhaven, PA. has a dedicated airgun range bu...

Yea there is a commercial product (name escapes me at the moment) but it uses weed eater type cord and the patch fastens to one end. Works well and not real pricey but string is cheaper.

Re: Cleaning air rifle
From the previous posts you are getting the message that you need not clean air rifles much at all. If the accuracy does drop off or you feel the urge to clean it do what I do. Get a piece of string and tie a loop in one end to slip a small cleaning patch in. Then use a vacuum cleaner at the muzzle ...
