supposing that I want to regulate the absorver to have a little of recoil, can I slacken the screw of regulation? Yes, if you make the screw tighter you feel more recoil. If you make it too loose you get a delayed pulse, a bit like the recoil from the slide on a semi-auto. With it set per the adjus...

Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Well I took the recoil absorber apart. Relatively straight forward, you just need to remove the obvious parts and drift out the pin that holds the breach cover. Be careful of the spring loaded button on the damper mass, and the pin that seals the bolt (se...

Have you thought about video taping the movement of your muzzle against an indexed background during your approaches?... I have only used a Noptel a couple of times, so excuse me if I'm off track, but couldn't one of the training systems (Rika, Scatt, Noptel, Rohm, etc) tell you what you were doing...

Guest said: Before stripping it, I would maybe try adjusting it from one extreme to the other with the hope of freeing /settling something. If after returning to the desired position it still gives erratic results, it will need taking apart in the absorber area to find the problem. Thanks for your f...

Not sure but ... did Skanaker write, in his book, about Vollmar, the Olympics triple-medalist? There is a section in Dr Antals Competative Pistol Shooting about some Olympic medalist doing this...book isn't handy...not sure who it was. But I do recall that under intense match pressure, even they br...

FWB P40 absorber and its adjustment
My FWB P40 absorber behaves a little odd. I've spoken to a gunsmith but didn't get much help. Gun is 4 months (and about 5-6000 shots) old. The manual says that you adjust it by firing a shot (must have a pellet) keep the gun horizontal, then slowly open the breach until resistance is felt. This is ...

I too stopped using my iris because of depth of field distractions. However, I also found it harder to position my head/eye in the centre of the lense without it, and if you have an astigmatism corrected by your lense (as I do) that can be a problem. I got around that by using the centering device f...

However this time I'll raise the load up to 2.7 or 2.8gr. to see where it gets. Have you had a chance to try the heavier loads? I'm curious. I found in my Model 14, that when I went to 2.7gn of N310 I started to get some leading using swaged 148gn HBWC. But in a Model 52-2 they grouped a little bet...

testing pellets in a pistol is a waste time. You can't outshoot the gun. Really. YMMV but my results prove you can. Not to mention the confidence it gives you knowing the gun ALWAYs puts the pellet in the same place. Maybe your pistol will do that regardless of pellet, but i've seen 3 (out of 3) th...

OK, let's see how good these pictures are. I'm not the world's best photographer, obviously... Well I'm not complaining - as they say a picture tells a thousand words! I'm going to see a gunsmith on the weekend and show him what you have done - exactly what I want. Switzerland is a bit far from Aus...

The only way to know what pellets you should use (brand / weight / diameter and perhaps batch) is to test them. FWB give you a 10 shot test target, but don't say what ammo they used to achieve it. I setup a vice at 10m and clamped my FWB P40. I used a solid wooden frame covered with heavy cardboard ...

Replacement sights for a S&W Model 14 for Centrefire
I have a S&W K38 which I use for ISSF centrefire. Without getting into a debate about whether I should use a 32 semi-auto, I want to update the sights. What I would really like is a set of sights like my FWB AW93 .22. In particular an adjustable rear sight gap, and non-screwdriver adjustable ele...
