Re: Trouble with Diana .22 and .177 Scope Use
Yes, I've had this issue with an R1. There are probably many issues that can cause it. My issues were with scopes, mounts and rings. If you are shooting the higher powered Diana's you might be having the same issue. Even if you believe you have a good scope it would pay to try another good one (spri...

Re: Ice or no ice in your Bourbon?
Out here, where water (irrigation) is scarce and tradition is long, there is a saying that goes: Whiskey is for drinkin, water is for fightin. So, with Dr. Seuss in mind, I thought I’d add my two cents. I like mine with no ice, but when the snow flies and the fire is nice, hot water, honey, lemon an...

Re: Budget optics for prone rifle?
I look also. I like the Leupold (used) 6x24 Target or EFR. Also the older Bushnell. I've picked up one Leupold 6x24 Target below $500 and one EFR for about $75 over that. I've also picked up a couple of nice Bushnell's for under $400. In fact this morning I saw a Leupold 6x24 target for sale on US R...

Not sure how far "around" you are looking for. Missoula and the Butte/Anaconda area had some pistol matches. You might try contacting the Montana Rifle and Pistol Association----they generally put out a match schedule that also includes Idaho,Washington, Wyoming and parts of North Dakota.

Gun safety is no joke for sure, but your comment is pretty darn funny Rover!

Re: Smallbore Rifle Backstop?
I have built a couple very similar to the one in the link above, but larger. I used a 3/8" piece of T1 for the angled piece in the back---and it's way more than needed. The trap works fine, but here are a couple of issues. First, you get some splatter---from the seams that are not sealed--mine ...

Re: 5 rounds magazine in small bore rifle?
Thanks for pointing that out Alan---it's probably north of fifteen years since I shot a sanctioned match. The club matches I shoot are pretty much shot with the concept that "anything safe" is legal.

Re: 5 rounds magazine in small bore rifle?
Lots of folks shoot single shots in Silhouette. The Walther KKMS and the Anschutz 54MS are common rifles at silhouette matches and they are both dedicated single shots---mainly for the Standard Rifle event. For the Hunter Rifle events, magazine rifles are used as the rules stated the ammo is to be l...

Re: 300 Meter Prone On-Line Event and Custom Stock Question
I've purchased stocks from both Boyd's and Stocky's. Know what you are buying and I don't think you will be disappointed. The wood laminated stocks I've purchased from Boyd's had some value to me---easy to fit, functional, price was right and I've had no issues with them. A friend just purchased a s...
