Re: Savage MK II rifles for programs
Our club owns 4 Savage FVT's in factory trim and AccuTriggers. I personally own 3, 1 completely stock, one in a At-One that is my smallbore F-class and Silhouette Rifle, and a 3rd that resides in a custom made thumbhole used for NRL22 and other activities. They are great rifles that will take allot ...

Re: Daisy 599 Partial/Initial Review
We have been using the Challenger 2009 going on 4 years now. With a 2000 psi fill, the max allowed and 7.0 grain RWS Match Pellets, we have had no problems getting through a 3 * 20 with a single fill, and very little if any drop off. Nearly every JROTC unit we shoot with have Challengers. There are ...

Re: Daisy 499b Program Startup - ideas needed
There are numerous youth groups, and even all age groups around the nation using the 499B rifles. For their intended distance which is 5 meters, they are usually more accurate than most shooters can muster. I have seen competitions where youth and adults are putting rounds in the 10x nearly every ti...

Re: Daisy National Rumor
Seriously doubt they will do that, that event has been going on since 1966 and to my knowledge, none of their major sponsors have pulled their support.
May be the last time they hold it in Rogers, but not the last time the event will be held.

Re: Air Rifle Silhouette
They provide a seperate room in the building. The safe area is deemed necessary by NRA Rules. Shooters were given time to air up between animals. Thanks, I did not know that! My son has another 2 years before he can apply for the Texas Team - but it is good information for our other members. We hav...

Re: Air Rifle Silhouette
If going with PCP, pay attention to what air pressures the gun likes. You are given time to "air up" at Nationals, so I wouldn't let that worry you. Don't they make you go out of the building if you are using PCP? And if I am reading this correct, they gave time between banks of animals t...

Re: Air Rifle Silhouette
thanks everyone for the suggestions! Looking at the suggested options and some others. There are a couple of new PCP Guns that are suppose to hit the market any day now with great reviews, regulated and up to 60 usable shots with factory settings. So with our State competition still a few months awa...

Re: Air Rifle Silhouette
The air rifle of choice over at that site is the Air Arms TX200 springer. (not the carbine) http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Air_Arms_TX200_MkIII_Air_Rifle/174 Like the specs on this one, and the fact it is a under-lever makes it that much better. Now if it was available in a ambi stock it would be a ...

Re: Air Rifle Silhouette
The 2016 rules did still say that, but there has been enough flak given over it, I am trying to avoid issues. Trying to keep from modifying the Challenver we own, so it stays in compliance for other sporter sanctions we shoot. Thank You A challenger turned up a little bit with a decent scope able to...

ROTFLMAO, thanks! If you are talking about the Silhouette shooting that includes trying to hit a bunch of stupid metal targets that jump out of your projectiles way when they see it coming, you will want to go here for a wealth of knowledge: http://www.steelchickens.com/forums/ The air rifle of choi...

Air Rifle Silhouette
Morning all! Name is Louis and new to the the forum. My son is in 4-H Shooting Sports and I am a multi-discipline coach in 4-H. Also active in CMP and NRA competition. Question: What air rifle is everyone using for silhouettes? And I may have to qualify with, in Texas 4-H we are not allowed any rifl...

Re: Youth shooting opportunities in Austin Texas area?
As post, the Travis County 4-H is a very active group, in fact the first Saturday in March is the March Madness Invitational where 4-H Clubs from all over the state compete in Air Rifle/Pistol, Smallbore Rifle/Pistol, Muzzleloading and Archery. This is held at the Austin Rifle Club in Manor, which a...
