Re: Anschutz Carrier Column Lock Nut
No, its original anschutz parts. No after market. The threads are not worn, but because anschutz wanted the user to be able to easily adjust, the column thread depth is hand_tight. None of my metric gauges would work. Only my 16tpi gauge. From that i found that BSF ½-16 threaded nuts worked perfect ...

Anschutz Carrier Column Lock Nut
Replacement for plastic Anschutz Buttplate & Cheekpiece standard (not precise) Carrier Column Lock Nut FYI: $9 is a lot! So I got out my calipers and realized the carrier column is a BSF ½-16 thread! WTF! BRITISH!. So, I got some steel hex nuts online for just $1.00 from Moss Motors & they f...

Going F-class: Shooting rest to get?
In Florida, wearing a jacket is killing me (sweat like a pig) & getting to old to hold sling :-( Is there a site that people discuss pros/cons of shooting rest, Fclass? I think a front rest should be able to clamp a stock. Is pressure on stock important? What you think? I am looking at the Caldw...

Re: Getting rid of prone 8 ring wobble-how tight hold w/fore
Thanks all for the advise. Its been hard to get into this sport at such an old age, 60. My eyes aren't good enough now for iron sights. Can only hold rifle for 5 minutes before having to put it down. Though, i did shot my 1st 200/200 conventional at 100 yards! (Though i think that it is easier than ...

Getting rid of prone 8 ring wobble-how tight hold w/forehand
Getting rid of prone 8 ring wobble
I use a 36x scope, so I can see the wobble. I can reduce the wobble by squeezing the rifle stock via the forehand. May I ask others, do you just let the rifle seat in your forehand or do hold it firmly (And how firmly, a strong handshake, etc)?

Re: Anschutx 54
What type of ammo is it having problems ejecting? I find that some ammos are on longer tolerance and are hard to insert and eject. Have you noticed that its hard to push the ammo into the barrel (its very tight)? Switching ammo, I no longer have a problem. I personally stay away from Winchester.

Re: Scope power for NRA Prone Smallbore?
I use a Weaver 36x with 1/8 dot. But at that power I can't see either the wind flags nor the grass below the target at the same time, which would help with a shot. 24x would let you do that. Something to consider.

Xgun bolt firing pin cracked sleeve
The bolt sleeve, that is notched for the back-end of the firing pin, looked cracked (see attached file). The crack is at the end of the notch where the firing pin travels back and forth.
The rifle is firing fine. Has anyone seen this before? Should I fix it now? And how?

Anshutz Xgun
I have one. Does anyone know the history behind them? Was it just a development rifle that was never meant to be sold to the mass market? (I don't think it is found in any catalog. People give it a "1600" series label, but not official i believe.) Am i correct? How many were made? Where ca...

Re: KK500 report.
Great shooting! I love before/after. What were you shooting before? Do you have a target pic using your old rifle? And please post your CCI cheap ammo for comparison. Thanks.
