Re: Picatinny rail for KK500?
VFGar Gunsmithing has an 11mm to Pic rail that he makes.
I don't know how to post a link with this silly forum system. Just google it. You will probably have to call or e-mail him, since he does not have online ordering.

Thank you. Don't have a 599 but I'll file this away just in case. I do know one coach that has one. ;-)

Challenger 2021 Manual
I've had a Challenger 2021 for a little over a year and a half. They shipped the thing with a manual with friggin 8 point font, so I had to get out my optiviser to read the darn thing. No biggie, I'll just go to their website and download the .pdf file. Yeah, they don't have the darn thing on their ...

Re: FWB 800 rear sight cover problem
I think it's a new design. Mine has miniscule plastic tabs (top, left & right) without any screw. I know there are two designs though, as SS Depot has two options. I actually thought about using super glue or epoxy to permanently attach the plastic housing directly to the sight housing when the ...

Re: FWB 800 rear sight cover problem
Yeah they are kind of junky. I ordered two from Germany a couple of weeks ago. The one on my 800X broke after a year. I think Shooting Sports Depot has them in stock. When mine broke, there were not any in stock here in the states.

Ahhh, that's why. Really appreciate your clarification.
Probably why the USA Shooting Rules have a 2013 edition date.

Non-verbal coaching
ISSF Official Statutes Rules & Regulations (6.12.5.1) states: 6.12.5.1 In all events, non-verbal coaching is allowed, the written word is non-verbal. In 50m Three-Position Finals, verbal coaching is allowed only during changeover times. While on the firing line, an athlete may speak only with Ju...

Re: 2024 Junior Olympic R&P matches?
You can automatically qualify by shooting the automatic invite score or be a state champion (minimum of 3 participants). That's what I remember. However I thought USAS implemented somthing that the state champion also had to shoot a minimum score too. Thanks for clarifying that and providing the 20...

2024 Junior Olympic R&P matches?
I have an idea how this works (did it as a junior 35+ years ago) but I've been out of that loop for a while. Each state has a qualifying match , and top male & female get an invite to where ever the national junior Olympic match is held? I hate to be the one to launch slings and arrows, but the ...

Yes, but the poster wants to buy. Yeah it is in someone else's WTB thread but he is still looking to buy not sell. Maybe not the best etiquette for a forum but hardly the first time that has happened on the interwebs. They were actually responding to XTCShooter, who said they had one. It's an old th...

Re: Spotting Scammers
Let's Play: "SCAM? or not a Scam?" You be the Judge! Sorry, I don't see it that way. WTB is much different than WTS. I too am cautious with all low post count accounts, but that does not mean they are all scammers. Lots of ways a seller can protect themselves. If your kid just got on the ...

Re: Kowa TSN-1 a good spotting scope for smallbore outdoor prone?
At that price point, you should be looking at used scopes. I've had a TSN-1 with the LER eyepiece. I checked it side by side against my Celestron 80mm Regal M2 and the Celestron beat it in terms of FOV and resolution. It's still a good scope, probably better in the mechanical department than the Cel...

Re: Air Rifle - Front sight aperture size depending on skill
Correct! I keep the size chart handy for my junior rifle team. Easy rule of thumb if you are measuring in inches: The distance from front sight to the eye (not rear sight) roughly corresponds to the size of aperture. Lets say the distance from the front sight to eye is 38 inches. Then the size of t...

Re: Air Rifle - Front sight aperture size depending on skill
In simple terms we see brightness better than distance, so a bigger gap helps us centre the target; if the foresight is off centre the gap will appear brighter on one side. From memory WOTR recommended a 4.5mm for 10m air. If your hold isn't perfect, going bigger, within reason may help. Ok I see w...

Re: Air Rifle - Front sight aperture size depending on skill
That's some great information, thank you both. I actually have that article as a .pdf in a folder on my computer, but I don't think I had read it yet. It has some really good information, as does the No. 3 article referenced in the article. It looks like the chart shows that a 4.0 would be just abou...

Air Rifle - Front sight aperture size depending on skill
Hello, Depending on skill level what should the front aperture size be? I could have sworn that the Heinz Reinkemeier books had a recommended sizing chart based on scores being shot but I have not been able to find it. Looked all through my coaching stuff and can't find it either. On paper targets I...
