I fell jogging a couple of years back and lit on my elbows on asphalt. I don't have much skin left on my elbows. I use a Champions Choice 700D mat with sweatshirt, elbow pads on both elbows and then my shooting coat. Does real well for me. Don't need them in kneeling. If I forget the elbow pads I kn...

I do a lot of dry firing. I scanned a A-36 smallbore target and reduced its size for the distance I dry fire. I use a 100 watt bulb in a reflector placed a couple of feet from the target. I feel it helps with trigger control. Also with technique and prone endurance. But I really need more live fire ...

I don't claim to have any answers. But I remember the opposite situation. Back in the late 60's I was shooting in an indoor winter 4p league in St. Louis. My memory is poor, but I remember we used the A-17. Most everyone was classified a master. Then one season we switched to the fly speck target. D...

The following on wind deflection is copied from the NRA Fact Book: Those unfamiliar with smallbore rifle competition are often surprised to learn that target shooters almost universally use standard velocity ammunition in preference to the many varieties of high and hyper-velocity rounds available. ...

Thanks for your replies. She is eight. Ralph used to run a program for 12 and up. Larry is a good friend but her mom thought it ran too late on a school night getting her back to Valley Center from Oaklawn. I heard there was a program at the extension office. Meanwhile we do some shooting with an ol...

Be sure and use a bore guide and a one piece rod. I find rimfires vary alot, even identical rifles with required cleaning. Also a rifle may vary depending on the brand of ammo used. I would suggest some bench shooting. Start with a clean barrel and first see how many rounds it takes for the barrel t...

I agree its not prone to attacks partially because its low use. But it is also designed better and it doesn't have the name microsoft. Many of the attackers seem to have it in for microsofts monopoly and they enjoy sticking it to Bill Gates. I guess we can agree we disagree on some things. Glad to s...

Hi Richard H. another Richard here. I guess I'm one that uses one of those funky browsers. FireFox. I do because it's not as suseptable to viruses as IE and is faster. This is only the second web site I've found in 5 months that doesn't work with Firefox. The other is Microsoft(G). It works both way...

Steve's reference about the lot numbers I agree with. May need to test several lots of a brand and then if you find one that shoots buy all you can afford. I shoot both 3p and rimfire benchrest. I have always had the best luck with Lapua Midas. But from now on I think I will stick with Lapua Master ...

I'm always fighting my weight, not much luck. Till I was 45 I could eat anything and not gain weight. But now I'm 63 and a tad over 200 pounds at 5 ft 11 in. I still shoot smallbore 3p and benchrest. I shoot indoor 3p leagues in the winter and some outdoor 3p in the summer along with ARA rimflre ben...
