Re: Shortrange/longrange scopes
Thanks folks, those pos-align sleeves look like they would do the job!

Shortrange/longrange scopes
Hi, I recently bought a second hand optimate 38x44 scope to shoot in anysights competitions at 100 yards. Scope works fine at 50 but doesnt seem to have enough adjustment to get to 100 yards. The elevation turret has a vernier gauge which goes up to 6, and the instruction manual says it has adjustme...

Shooting in new rifle
Hi, Any views on whether a new barrel needs 'shooting in' prior to doing batch testing etc? The more experienced shooters at my club talk about needing to put a few thousand rounds through to 'settle down' a new barrel. Not sure whether this is actually about the shooter getting used to a new stock ...

Re: KK500 buttplate rod extension
Hi, Thanks for the response! Very helpful. Kind of surprised by how short the standard rods are! I've only been using snapcaps so far - too scared of damaging my new baby to do otherwise! I also doubt the pin would impact anything, its an issue we've had with ancient rifles at the club though, where...

KK500 buttplate rod extension
Hi, Question for any KK500 owners out there, do you know the part number for the longer rods for the buttplate carrier? I can't find them on the Walther site - the closest is 2782987 which is a set of long rods and spindle 100mm for stock extension - for LG400 anatomic, LG400 Expert, LG300XT Anatomi...

Re: Esprit Carabine stock - floating barrel & impact on tune
Haven't got around to buying one yet - needed the money for something else. I had a chat with the uk distributor who suggested filing down the locator pin (doesn't need to be by much). Seems to be necessary because the locking rings that fit the barrel to the stock get threaded onto the barrel from ...

Re: Anschutz versus FWB dovetail sizing help.
May or may not help, but I bought some raiser blocks from ebay (not sure I can post a link here but seller is waleidna8591 he's still selling - search 'fwb raiser block')
I contacted him direct and he made me a set of blocks which was fwb on the bottom and anshutz on the top.

Re: Buy a tuner or not?
Tim, You may be onto something there, although I used a reversed cleaning rod to measure the distances I could have been more accurate with the measurements. I made it 765mm and very likely I could be 3mm off. This model is referred to as their Standard rifle. Interesting that length is pretty much ...

Re: Esprit Carabine stock - floating barrel & impact on tune
Yep, I've had a good look around the website, their facebook page and spoken to the uk distributer.
Main thing I'm mulling over is what to do about the locator pin for the FWB end tube which will foul the barrel clamps. Grinding it down or removing feels a bit permanent...

Re: Buy a tuner or not?
Hmm interesting thread this one... So on a FWB 2700 which has a barrel length of 26.75" (without the FWB barrel sleeve/bloop) would have a 9th Harmonic of 29.66" and a 7th of 30.77" (the end, inner diameter of the sleeve is 0.77") (figures calculated using a PRX spreadsheet I fou...

Esprit Carabine stock - floating barrel & impact on tune
Hi all, I'm considering an EC 'universal concept' stock for my FWB 2700 barrel (I'm looking to buy a new barrel and action in future and like the idea of a stock which I can use for different brands). They have a 'barrel bedding' solution which involves clamping the barrel to the stock with two meta...

Re: SCATT MX-02 Question
I struggled with lighting when using my MX-02 indoors - low energy/fluorescent and LED caused flicker and calibration problems for the camera. In the end I bought a powerful halogen workshop light on a stand , put it in front of the printed out target and turned the other house lights off. Then it w...
