Re: which .22lr std pistol is MOST reliable - no more alibis
Which .22lr standard/sport/rapid pistol is most reliable with regard to (a) feeding, (b) misfires, (c) ejections, etc.??? I don't care about the cost - I just want reliability! On the other side of the equation are pistol maintenance and the ammunition. Over the years I have found that there are ve...

Use "Search". Look for this http://targettalk.org/templates/subSilver/images/icon_mini_search.gif icon on the top of every page. I just entered "lead AND blood" and got 6 topics including this one. If you enter "lead AND health" you will get 7 topics. Aha! Ta Spencer

Not this again???? Haven't we been here before 8). Which raises the question - although those of us who have been using this board for a while are aware of the previous threads, how does one find a particular thread in the archives? I had a quick look before putting up the question and the 40 pages...

Re: Air Pistols and Air Travel
Two questions: 1. Do airline regs require the declaration of air pistols in checked baggage?? 2. I am thinking about taking my AP to Switzerland next year. Does anyone know what if any restrictions are in place for the import of an AP to that country?? F. Paul A check with your NF (USAShooting?) wo...

The instructions come with the gauge. It's easier to demonstate than explain. Having taught a number of people how to use the nonius gauges over the years... It's (definitely) easier to demonstarte than explain. The nonius gauges are available from the ISSF website - look on the merchandise page. C...

Yes I do. Does fluoresent lighting affect the electronic sensors on a Chrony? And then some! Suggest you make up a light proof cover to protect the sensors from the fluoros and an incandecent globe over each sensor inside the cover. 40W globes seem to work a treat. A similar arrangement for outdoor...

Re: Pistol Shooting on Olympic TV
With the electronic targets I don't think it shows the shooters and the targets at the same time. However, the Finals series was invented especially for TV - so why are they Not there? The ISSF and Sius Ascor have developed excellent split screen displays that show the shooter AND the shot placemen...

I simply do not understand the ISSF's fetish for regulating the most insignificant details of the sport. Can anyone explain why they seem to feel obligated to be that way? Possibly related to some shooters' fetish for pushing the details of the sport wherever they see a loophole. Almost all the STR...

What? Additional shot? And what? Shooter is allowed to make TWO such mistakes without any amandment. Third mistake causes -2 points... Did he shoot 41 shots in kneeling??? Must presume that he fired 41 shots in kneeling, 2 point deduction under 7.6.6.2. I am not certain how that can happen with ele...

Apparently the crossfire was a 10.6, which helped give the bronze to Christian Planer of Austria. 10.6 was the Planer's score on the final round. 8.1 was the Emmon's crossfire on Planer's target. (which would be enough for the gold, had it been the Emmon's target) Yep! One of the great advantages o...

The results seem to be posted pretty quick, at least quicker than World Cups. Olympic Shooting results http://www.athens2004.com/en/resultsShooting/results having been a part of the process of setting up the results service at Olympics, the information (i.e. scores & results) is in effect avail...

nice to have pencil and paper used to get scores (for WAR) up on the internet - none of this new-fangled computerised nonsense! It only took a couple of hours... With dedication this could be dragged out to a day or two, or even not bother to give the scores for shooting other than shotgun at all. R...

TV, the Olympics, and your phone call

Re: Cleaning Primer Pockets
Thanks for your replies. However, when you use a vibrator for cleaning the cases, sometimes the very fine cleaning compound (walnut shells) can get lodged inside, and need to be manually removed. Deprime AFTER you put the cases through the tumbler / vibrator, not before. IMHO there are lots of thin...
