Re: Steyr LP2 vs EVO10
I have a Steyr LP 2 Compact and would not buy a more expensive pistol. I won 8 postal league competitions in last year with it and never feel disadvantaged shooting against others who have spent more. It has proved reliable and consistent for 4 years and has shot 1,000s of pellets. It is down to pra...

Re: How Much Does Wind Impact 10 Meter Air Pistol pellets
In my experience shooting air pistol at 10 meters and free pistol at 50 meters, an across the range wind has more effect on the shooters body than it does on the projectile, if it was only wind effecting the round, a wind from the left would result in a high right hit on the target, wind from the ri...

Re: What next ?
Hi John
Who or where did you buy the pistol glove in the UK? I shoot outdoor all the year round and use a Zippo hand warmer in the winter but the glove/cover would be a great addition.

Re: Other Similar Forum Sites?
May I confirm what David posted, I think the Stirton forum is one of the most helpful forum shooting sites available, I also did not want to register just to look around but don't let that put you off, you will not be disappointed.

Re: What's your high score?
in the last postal competition I shot 556 and was very happy, in practice I often shoot better but I try not to keep adding up the scores as this habit in practice carries over into competition just builds up the tension over the sixty shots. Before the last shoulder to shoulder competition I had be...

Re: Twitch Shot in 10 Meter Air Pistol
My coach says the grip pressure should be like shaking hands with a friend, not limp, not hard, just firm with gentle pressure. I would say if you are training so hard put stuck at the same level as you are you are possibly practicing and perfecting a bad technique and need a coach to watch you shoo...

Re: SSP ?
I do not find it difficult to cock my FWB 100 or Pardini K58 with it pointing down range, some might have a habit of crossing the pistol over the firing range but I have never seen this done. The competitions I shoot require you to change targets every five shots anyway so you need to change your st...

Re: SSP ?
I think Deadeyedick is trying to wind up SSP pistol users, the idea that the average man would struggle to cock a Pardini, Walther or FWB SSP pistol is joke. I also enjoy the simple pleasure of not needing to recharge cylinders but just taking the pistol and pellets when on holidays and travelling Y...

Re: Munich World Cup Free Pistol final
I watched the final and it was exciting, if you need a reason to keep free pistol in the Olympics just watch it yourself and wonder at the skill of the shooters. Black armbands show the sadness of the shooters at the decision to drop this discipline and I feel the same.

Re: Another blast from the past
I also have a FWB 100 and shoot it a lot, recently during a competition I cranked the leaver to charge and cock the pistol and the link mechanism between leaver and cylinder broke. FWB in Germany supplied a new part and a local gun shop fitted it. Total cost £60 UK pounds. Well done FWB for supplyin...

Re: Rovers delights Pardini K58
Thank you Rover for the link about a dry fire modification to the K58. The finish is a little crude compared to my FWB 100 and and more than a little compared to my Walther LP2 which is the best finished pistol I own, just not such an easy pistol to shoot as it has its point of balance and weight to...

Re: Rovers delights Pardini K58
opening and closing the loading gate on my K58 does not set the trigger for dry firing, I thought it would as doing the same thing with the FWB100 sets the trigger and partially lifting the cocking handle on the FAS 604 allows dry firing. But it is still the best SSP pistol I have shot, the shot cyc...

Re: Rovers delights Pardini K58
I just read the first reply again, no Rover did not sell this gun, I am in the UK and the price SSP pistols sell for in the USA are much higher than here. I called it Rovers delights because he loves SSP pistols so much, it is a passion I share, no air bottle, adaptors, cylinders, just pick up and s...

Re: Rovers delights Pardini K58
Thank you for the information about the dry fire not being available in the USA, I was told it had been done but could not work out how it was possible. Another bit of miss information found on the internet and passed on I expect.

Rovers delights Pardini K58
The cocking leaver on my FWB 100 snapped during a match so a friend loaned me his Pardini K58 to finish the competition. He wanted to sell the pistol so Iasked if I could continue to use it till my FWB was repaired and said I would buy if I liked it, he agreed. From the first few shots I thought wha...

After a few visits you will find any comp a place of pe...

Re: Air Pistol In Hertforshire
In the UK most small bore and air gun shooting clubs are affiliated to the NSRA, National Small bore Rifle Association. You will find them on Google, they will have lists of clubs and contact detail. Most clubs in the UK will have pistols and rifles you can borrow as members often donate weapons whe...
