Re: New Member from Luxembourg/EU
Welcome Fadi! You must be good with pistol to have been selected for the 2nd division team! Which pistol do you use? Have you been shooting pistol long? I'm a relative newcomer to pistol shooting - under 10 months now - but I'm really enjoying it, even though my scores aren't very good (yet). Cheers!

Re: Good supplier in USA/Canada ?
What shop (usa/canadian) do you recommend for accessories ? You really should say what you're looking for as there are many different sources for gear. Also you ask about "usa/canadian" shops... because of import duties and exchange rates, you really need to know what you're buying and wh...

Re: 10m Aiming Technique
Have you read "Successful Pistol Shooting" by Bob Hickey and Art Sievers (ISBN 978-0939414031)? They describe training (dry firing) so the front sight picture and subconscious are what cause the trigger finger movement. I think there is something to this, but it's more like an eastern phi...

10m Aiming Technique
There seem to be two different techniques shooters use for 10m pistol... With both, they raise the pistol to above the target, get the sights aligned and get steady and then slowly lower onto the target. In one technique they release the trigger as they're lowering at the moment the sight picture is...

Re: FWB 601 - Can it be updated to dry fire?
I have been looking for a FWB 602 or 603 to practice off hand shooting. I have been focused on those models because of the dry fire capabilities. I have come across a few for sale, but if i'm going to drop 1k for a 20 year old BB gun, I want it do me cosmetically appealing to me (think work of art)...

Re: Is there US Duty and taxes charged on imported airguns?
My mistake, then swap USPS for UPS. Sales tax in NY state is 4%, Clinton county will also charge you 4% taxes in Champlain. Throw in the 3.9% duties... 8.9%. Then add the +/- 15% of the CAD value at the border. I'm not following the math... if you say there's 4% NY State plus 4% Clinton county plus...

Thank you!sparky wrote:According to HTS 9304.00 (et seq), 3.9% tariff on air rifles, but none on anything else (like air pistols).
Do you know if there are any State or Federal taxes charged if the rifle arrives into New York State from the Netherlands?

Re: Is there US Duty and taxes charged on imported airguns?
He can have it shipped to a forwarding company like Freeport in Champlain and declare it at the border. He'll have to pay the US taxes and brokerage fee to USPS which I don't think Freeport will pay for him in advance. He'll have to pick it up at a USPS dropoff point, then declare it at the canadia...

Is there US Duty and taxes charged on imported airguns?
Can anyone here tell me if there is any duty and taxes charged in the States on air rifles imported from Europe? If so, how much? A friend here in Canada is looking at importing a rifle from Krale in the Netherlands (he can't find what he wants here in Canada) but Krale has stopped selling rifles to...

Adjusting Gehmann 579 sight for astigmatism
I'm hoping someone here can help me with this... I've got a new Gehmann 579 sight with 570 iris and want to set it up properly. (I need correction for astigmatism as well as vision.) My dealer is absolutely outstanding (Cibles Canada Targets) and I've bought a ton of stuff from them including a matc...

Re: MegaLink targets too bright!
IMO each shooter should be able to change the brightness of the target from the shooting lane. It's impossible for pistol shooter see the sights well to led lit target with full brightness. Making shooters to use special lenses just to dimm those overbright targets is stupid. For the price what Siu...

Re: MegaLink targets too bright!
The light level on the Megalink may be adjusted by use of the button on the circuit board on the right hand side of the unit behind the front cover. The default setting is maximum and I seem to remember that you have to press the button twice before it will change the setting, one level per press. ...

Re: Rear sight with corrective diopter?
I've just fitted it to my 569 unit for indoors. My frame lens is my normal prescription as the +0.5 doesn't work for me (I did have a lens made up to try it). The good thing with the 530 is that you can dial in the +0.5 if you need it. I can get the best image I've ever had. I would add that most o...

MegaLink targets too bright!
My club uses MegaLink electronic targets and recently it changed to internal LED lighting (within each target) and some days (I guess it depends on my eyes, and how tired I am, blood sugar, etc.) I find the target SO BRIGHT that it's hard to look at it. I have shooting glasses with an adjustable iri...

Re: Rear sight with corrective diopter?
I have an astigmatism and use the new gehmann 50300 in combination with shooting glasses and its the best solution for me. The lens in my glasses corrects the astigmatism and then I can dial in the 50300 to give me perfect focus on the foresight. I'm over the moon with the 50300 even despite its co...

Re: No regrets going with a full length Steyr Evo.
But my main reasons for wanting to change were two things: First of all, the full length model is QUIETER (quite noticeably so) than the compact version. Shooting side by side it's quite apparent. And the second and more important reason for my change was that the compact version gets less shots pe...

Re: No regrets going with a full length Steyr Evo.
When I was buying my first match pistol I was strongly recommended to buy the compact version (which I did) and told that only once I was shooting consistently scores of 550+/600 I should consider changing to the full length model. I never reached that high a score with the compact but after 6 month...

Re: Rear sight with corrective diopter?
So there is an easier and MUCH cheaper way to fix this - by doing the optical math and just get the right lens in the first place. Older adjustable diopters are the easy way to get there, because you just turn it till it looks right, however once you get it to the right place you usually don't need...

Re: Rear sight with corrective diopter?
I thought that the 530 could also correct astigmatism ? Take a look at the Gehmann website: http://gehmann.com/english/products.php?kategorie=20&id=1639 The advantage compared to usual shooters‘ frames is the possibility to correct the spherical and astigmatic defect through slight fine adjustm...
