Impact of holding exercises in the match

hi All - During training, I generally perform holding exercises for 40-45mins (25sec on, 30 sec off..5holds then rest 1 minute etc ). Once the exercises are done, dry firing and live firing starts. There is barely a 5-10 min gap between holding and dry/live. So my hand is very steady in training and...

Re: Hand Pain?

I had a similar issue when I started shooting, though the pain was on the lower side of the wrist going towards the elbow..not sure what is medical term for that body part, other than hand..thats also my disclaimer that I am not a doctor :-) My remedy was to stop shooting for 2 weeks till the pain s...

Re: Steyr LP50 trigger

Not sure where I read it, but I think Stage 2 is set at 500g..cant go below. If you find any solution, please let me know. I would like to set a 1000g trigger with 2nd stage as 200g or so. Brings to closer to Walther SSP :-)

Re: Muscle development

Pushups in the morning are a must. In addition, I perform holding exercises in the evening on non-shooting days... 1 series -> 20 second hold, 20 second rest, 10 times....then 2mins rest Perform 6-7 series This has done wonders for my hold. 1-2 rest days in a week are must for improving performance....

Transition to Rapid Fire from Standard Pistol

hi - I am currently training for 25m Standard Pistol event. Training is going steady and good. I was wondering what would be a good time to start training for olympic style rapid fire event (5 targets...8sec, 6 sec, 4 sec). Should I be able to attain a particular score in Standard Pistol before I mo...

Comparison between trigger of LP50C and Walther SSP

hi, I am currently using the Walther SSP for rapid fire practice on the range - 2-3 times a week. The trigger is a 2 stage trigger. I was looking at an air pistol so I can practice rapid fire at home - both live fire and dry-fire. Steyr LP50 compact version seems to be a good option. Does anyone kno...

Re: Walter SSP jamming

Many thanks for the quick response. The jamming happens while feeding the next bullet in the chamber. The empty shell of the previous bullet has no issues in ejecting.
Let me check the cleaning option, and also if other shooters have the same issue with the SSP.

Walter SSP jamming

I just started training for 25m rapid fire using a Walter SSP. After a few rounds, the pistol starts jamming frequently during the timed 5-shot event. I was told that the gun is jamming because of shaky/trembling hold, but I didn't buy it. Anyone else faced the same issue? My hand needs strengthenin...
