Re: How to obtain such a curve in air rifle 10m??
Thanks everyone for contributing to this thread. I'm learning a lot! I've mainly used the 2002 edition of "Ways of the RIfle" (MEC) and Launi Meili's "Rifle: Steps to success." They're excellent books but I couldn't find much on how to do the final approach. Perhaps this last mot...

Re: How to obtain such a curve in air rifle 10m??
How do shooters who make traces like the one in Post #1 typically lower their aim onto the 10 ring? Is it done by breathing out until the sights are centered on the bull or does one let the elbow of the arm supporting the rifle forend settle deeper onto the hip until sights are aligned? I've looked ...

Re: Club/ranges in WNY
When I first started looking for a club to join a few years ago, Ten X looked very promising for target shooting sports, like https://www.tenxshootingclub.com/leagues/niagara-frontier-rifle-league/. However, I never joined, so I don't have any first hand experience with that club. Instead, I joined ...

Re: Krale
This is something that I've been thinking about for quite a while, so I'm glad that pthatcher made this post. I've heard great things about Krale shipping airguns (I also had an FWB 300 shipped to me from a private seller in Holland), but getting a firearm shipped to the US is much more complicated ...

Re: Flying with airguns, from Germany
This is about flying from Germany with an air rifle, so it doesn't really apply to the OP's question, but I wish this information had been posted (where I could find it!) when I was planning my the trip and hopefully it can help others. The air rifle was a 10m match pcp, so it was marked with an F i...

Re: centering eye on rear aperture
Thanks for your informative and helpful replies! I learned a lot from them. The original video from MEC that got me thinking about this was at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku2-izm-N4A This video shows the POI changing by several rings due to parallax while the bull remains centered on the front ...

centering eye on rear aperture
Target shooters are often told when using aperture sights that they need to center their eye behind the rear aperture so that the front sight is also centered in the rear aperture. I’ve seen some very high level coaches state this, but I don’t think it’s correct and I just did a simple test to convi...

Re: Eye Relief and aiming accuracy
Of course, this is not true for open/pistol sights, where the target, front sight, and rear sight must be aligned to the shooter's eye. This is what had me confused for a long time! For a peep sight, the rear aperture and eye are in nearly the same place. The rear sight aperture overlaps your eye's ...

Re: How to get sling to pull on outside arm in prone?
Thanks again for the helpful suggestions. Pat, my position is relatively high and I've rolled over a fair amount to the left side. I think most of the pulse is coming from the left upper arm. I have been looking in a mirror to check my positions, but agree that it would be helpful to take some photo...

Re: How to get sling to pull on outside arm in prone?
Hi Tim, Thank you for the detailed advice; it was very helpful! I tried some of the things that you suggested and realized that I just wasn't rotating the cuff enough. When I rotated the cuff counter-clockwise( viewed from above) so that the sling keeper is nearly touching the coat's sling hook, I g...

How to get sling to pull on outside arm in prone?
Hi All, I've read a lot about importance of getting the sling to pull on the outside of the supporting arm to reduce brachial pulse, but I haven't found much advice online or in books on how to do this. There have been some nice threads in this forum suggesting rotating the sling cuff and/or changin...

beginner advice, shooting coats and offhand advice
Hi All, I just got a FWB 300S and have started to work on my 10m shooting. I think there's lots of room for improvement, especially for offhand, so I'm excited about seeing how much better I can get. I'm hoping to eventually compete at the club-level in 10m air rifle, 3P air and smallbore rifle (wit...
