Re: LP50 Compact Cycling issues
Couple of things to check: That sounds like what happens when you shoot a cartridge to empty. So, assuming a fairly full cartridge; 1) Have you changed and/or adjusted the (angle, horizontal offset) the grip? On the back of the frame there are two screws that can be adjusted to change the offset ang...

Re: Hammerli SP-20 Failure to Eject
I don't know anything about the Hammerli, but the Pardini sp needs the magazine seated to eject (The ejector is actually on the magazine). Unless it's in place, the case just hangs on the bolt face, held by the extractor.

Just a thought, check to make sure your front sight isn't loosening. I had that problem on one of my barrels.

Re: New Shooter - Any 10M Air Pistol Matches in Colorado/Wyo
Someone recently told me to check out Arvada Rifle & Pistol Club. Their website shows a full ISSF program, including 10m AP.
I haven't checked it out yet; maybe someone with more info will chime in.

Re: What more important ?
Hey Alex:
Would you change your ranking based on event? ie is grip and position more important in RF, sight alignment in AP, etc.
And I do want to say I really appreciate your participation here, it really adds alot.

Re: What more important ?
Some of these are (to me, at least) intertwined. For instance, you can't have perfect sight alignment when it matters (when the shot releases), without maintaining concentration. Having said that, I feel sight alignment is the most important. BECAUSE: you can do everything else perfectly, but if you...

+1 I'm really glad you asked this, I assumed everybody but me knew why I always turn the knob clockwise. Rather than going back and forth, go all way round back to zero to tun it off. motorcycle_dan, Any particular reason as to why this practice is followed? Is this maneuver recommended with any bra...

Re: Drive U nutz pellet test
I've never found basics that cheap; that would sure change the numbers.
But really, I was just yanking your chain.
Full disclosure - I usually put the MKs I'm shooting in an R10 tin (so my pellet keeper works).
I'm sure most folks assume I'm shooting R10s in training.

Re: Drive U nutz pellet test
Well, if you shoot twice a week for a year, you can save $200-300 a year by using the Basic instead of Meisterkugel. I found a difference of $30 between basis ($42/5000) and MK ($72/5000) Champion Shooters Supply So a $300/yr difference would equate to 10*5000, or 50,000 pellets. If your shooting t...

Re: Dealing with plateaus
2 things to check...
1) are you tightening your grip as you start the trigger pull?
2) (and this was my issue) are you dropping your head slightly as you 'focus hard' on the front sight?
Spend some time dry firing; or try to have someone watch you shoot several shots.
Good luck.

Well, a 552 would have been top 20 each day, and a 527 (552 - 25) would have been top 50.

Re: How does one join the ISSF, or is that even a thing?
In the US, there are meets that bring the domestic big boys together, and are open to anyone who is a USAS member. For example, the Winter Airgun matches, usually the first week in Dec, are held in Colorado Springs. And you don't need to hold a 97 avg; it won't hurt, but a 95 avg would have made the...

Don't forget that some states ban popular target pistols because the magazine is in front of the trigger.

Re: Thinking of a PCP AP
Xman: Let me try to answer some of your questions. You cannot fly with a charged cylinder. Most ranges with active AP will have some provision for air. OTC does for WAG. I believe they have air at the Desert midwinter. Different guns get differing number of shots per cylinder, depending on size, and...

Re: Pardini SP Bullseye Edition ammo choice
Cci sv is the only (seriously, the only) ammo I've had any issues with in my Pardini sp. I cleaned the gun, cleaned the magazines, drop of oil, everything. Nothing helped. I just decided life was too short, and every other decent ammo (eley Club and target, wolf, sk, lapua) worked perfectly (I'm ove...

That would be me. Exchanged emails with Alex, and then spoke with Emil. I had them do a complete 'check-over', in conjunction with the seal job. Quick turnaround, gun shot great, then I sold it. From what I hear, still going strong... Be patient on the initial contact; I'm not sure what the competit...

Re: Some practice advice would be appreciated
Renzo - I think that's an excellent point about time of hold. I am really trying to work on abandoning the shot if it isn't developing on schedule. Any time I hold on and try to work a shot for longer than average, the results (to use a technical term) suck. ALWAYS. I SERIOUSLY CAN'T REMEMBER A 'GOO...
