Re: MONTHLY AP LEAGUE JUNE 2022

Things just came together last night and I shot the third highest score I've shot since I started this league. I only shot a two matches this month after not shooting at all in May. (Busy moving kids back home from universities for the summer.) The first match was in the low 540s. And last night's m...

I watched that program as a kid. If anyone here hasn't seen the series, I'd highly recommend it if you have an interest in the history of technology.

Re: What makes a AP "kick"?

Would be interesting to do the math on this but I'd wager that while the acceleration starts the moment the pellet starts moving most of the movement happens after it is already out. Physics would get pretty involved, I think. Figure on the pellet accelerating from 0 to 500ish fps within the barrel...

Thanks for explaining the "bei". My Steyr sight adjustment direction has never made sense before. Now it does.

Re: Single target score versus final score

I did a little bit of analysis on a 60 shot competition with 33 entrants. I looked at their 6 10 shot scores and their totals. Competitors who scored a high of 89 on one card, went on to finish no higher than about 511. Competitors who scored a high of 90 on one card, went on to finish no higher th...

If I read the news article correctly there is no penalty for not being insured. Did I misread?

I'm surprised the coalition of poor people hasn't objected yet...

I haven't been practicing regularly and it shows in my inconsistency. As usual, I'm having a hard time concentrating for all 60 shots.

If I read the new format correctly having two separate semifinals means there is the possibility of the 3rd or 4th best shooters not making it to the 4 person medal match.

Re: how often do you practice?

For 15 years I used to work 5 minutes from my range and had 1 hour for lunch. I'd shoot every work day for about 30 - 40 minutes. Back then I was shooting bullseye and only got into AP the last couple years before I moved jobs. That's were I developed the basic skills. Now I shoot AP in my basement ...

Re: "Sensive" Trigger Blades for Air Pistol?

For a while I was using a rubber O-ring around the trigger in the weight hanging groove of my LP10 to get a repeatable finger position. After a while I abandoned it but it was a cheap way to get something similar to what you are talking about

Re: Olympic Pistol Grips

Forgive me for going off topic but when they test trigger weight at a competition, do they test a dry fire pull or with an empty chamber discharge of air? With my own crude testing device on my 46m, dry fire mode is a little lighter than a discharge of air. I'm curious how the trigger mechanism kno...
