As mentioned before, I have a Manurhin 32 match that I use for the CF match, and I previously used a S&W model 14 38 spl. I've also been playing with a newer S&W model 16 32 mag to see if I could get it to shoot 32 S&W LWC with acceptable accuracy: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a164/...

The CF match is my favorite and I just got to shoot a match this last weekend in Indy. I use a sub-six hold for precision and a center hold for duel. Using a Manurhin revolver, which has a nice large rear sight, I find that I am able to line my sights up with the horzontal alignment bars on the rapi...

X10, Where are you located? If you live in the U.S., I'd say there's no question that 38 spl wadcutter ammo will be cheaper and just as accurate if not more so than 32. For example, Federal 38 Spl WC Gold Medal Match goes for $19.50/50 or $375 per case, while Lapua 32 S&W LWC goes for $28/50 (no...

I have a Match 32. I love it! The quality and accuracy are suberb. The sights and trigger are great, especially compared to a S&W. Having said that, the S&W K38/K32 are great shooting guns with a lot of potential. I have a model 14 with an Aristocrat rib and a newer model 16 that I'm playing...

I've got a Millet rear sight on my model 16, and while it's better than the stock blade, it's still not that great. I would definitely recommend the Weigand sight: http://www.jackweigand.com/smith_wesson_rear_blade.html. I haven't tried one yet, but it looks pretty good and the price is certainly re...

It's interesting to plot the scores and note that the 60 shot totals were on a very steady upward trend peaking at the 1980 games in Moscow (581). Was there a target change after those games which would explain the lower scores since then, generally in the 560 range?

The link does not appear to be on the "englisch" version website, but all the manuals I checked included english translations. In addition to the FP10, I noticed they are missing the 160 Special. Was it sold with instructions for the 160, or did they do up new instructions for it?

Have you tried Neal Stepp at International Shooters Service? http://www.iss-internationalshootersservice.com/ He found and sold this one many years ago: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a164/Lee-Jr/IMG_0046.jpg It took me about 20 years to find one, and it's still the only one I've seen in the fles...

I have a LP5 and used to also have the Morini EI Short. Yes, the trigger on the Morini is fantastic and much better than the LP5. That being said, the LP5's trigger is still good. In the end, I found that I couldn't shoot any better scores with the Morini. I didn't like the idea of having over 2 gra...

Speaking of the seals, who can provide replacements, and are they difficult to replace yourself?

I shot the CP3 pictured below for many years. Digging up the picture brings back fond memories...it was very reliable and the trigger was pretty good and very consistent. I added the Morini grips, Nygord compensator, and short CO2 cylinder. As pictured its balance was very similar to my current Mori...

If you're in college, you should check out the NRA collegiate shooting program. (Here's a link to their website: http://www.nrahq.com/compete/coldir.asp#sect) You can shoot international air pistol, free pistol, standard pistol, and possibly sport pistol. Your school does not need to have an officia...

Neil, I started out in the CF event many years ago using the S&W Model 14 (K38) using 38 HBWC. You'll want to get one with a 6" barrel (max length allowed). There are plenty older model 14's to be found for as cheap as $200. You can still buy Morini or (I think) Nill grips for them. The rea...

Neil, I may be in the minority, but I prefer to use a revolver in the Int'l CF event. For the slow fire portion, you have 6 minutes for every five shot string. During each series in the rapid fire portion (which used to be called "duel"), the target is shown 5 times, each time for 3 second...

USAS National Rankings

USA Shooting have recently posted updated national rankings over on their improved website...check it out! I think it's an excellent idea and I'd like to see it expanded to cover the non-olympic disciplines as well. It provides a little extra incentive to train a bit harder [ok, in my case it's gonn...
