I have shot Lapua pistpl match, the lub was too waxy for the MG2, the rounds not chambering fully reliably. Win T22, Fed 711, Wolf match and SK. SK Proved to be the best in my MG2, the oily lub that SK us...

I am also a MG2 owner, and that problem you describe is most likely caused by the cartridge is not fully chambered when the primer is struck and it is fireing slightly out of battery. Make shure that the chamber is clean and that the brand of ammunition that you choose drops fully into the chamber w...

MG2

I have an early Match Guns MG2, serial #10xx. Some obsevations: 1. The trigger is fantastic 2. Ergonomics are very, very good 3. Mine has a tight chamber and will not feed all ammuniton brands 4. It functions SK pistol and Federal 711very well 5. Stay away from ammunition with heavy waxy lubes 6. If ...

Clip on diopter shooting lens

Is anyone still making a clip on pistol shooting lens? I have an old one that clips on the temple, on steet glasses, with extra lenses. I would like to buy another but I have been unable to find them.
Thanks, Gort

Ted, I don't belive break in is applicable to high quality rimfire barrels and certantly not to air pistol barrels. Break in procedures are for barrels that fire gilding metal jacketed bullets and even then, the higher quality, the less break in. I do belive in using solvent to clean rimfire barrels...

Gutter snipe was another unsuccessful attempt as a speed combat sight. It consisted of a small c-channel layed axially on top of the slide, the idea was to sight down the channel and line up the far end with the close end giving a small u, centered in a larger u. Their is a reason that the patridge ...

The handgun Ghost Ring Sights refered to consist of a post front sight and a LARGE apature rear, on the order of 6mm to 8mm. These sights were designed to enhance speed in combat shooting and never lived up to their promise. These sights were never intended to and do not provide the precision requie...

MG-2

Steve,
I don't belive anyone has picked up a U.S. distributership ( since Don Nygord passed ). I think their is someone in Canada, but that would be difficult. Try E-mailing Match Guns (http://matchguns.com). They have been helpful to me in the past.

Gentelman, A few observations, the MG2 requires a differant operational format to avoid a double feed jam. If a round fails to fire, for any reason, the only to clear the action is as follows. 1) Do not rack the slide. 2) Remove the magazine. 3) With muzzle pointed downward, allow the lose round, st...

Jer, I too have an early MG2. Mine is in 10xx serial number range and has a tight chamber, the breech will not close all the way with the very waxy ammunition, causing light fireing pin hits. Once I realized what the problem was and switched to SK standard or Federal 911B ammunition, my MG2 has been...

I wasn't very clear, my upgrade was to sell my old ( early 90's) SP and purchased a SP New. My information about the chamber in the RF is vague, Larry did not go into detail and I didn't ask. but I got the impression that it was to reduce recoil.

Pardini RF

I just upgraded my old SP to a SP New, in my convesation with Larry Carter, I asked many of the same questions. The One that pushed me away from the RF, Larry said that the RF had a different chamber (larger)and that it would not be as accurate. I gather that RF is just that, a dedicated RF pistol, ...

"Shoot at the Backstop"

The technique is called "Area Aiming", and it is a wonderful tool to work on sight picture and trigger control. As a combat firearms instructor for 14 years, I have used this drill with all my students and use it myself as well. The easyist way is to turn the target backwards (the bulleye ...

952

I have an early 952 (blue) and I must comment. The rear sight is a wilson and every bit the equil of Bo-Mar, AS FOR THE BARREL it is a work of art cut rifleing and very precise. My 952 will shoot 10 shot groups at 2" at 50 yards, off bags, with good ammunition. ( Hornady 124 flat point ) IMHO y...
