I bought my SSP about a year ago, Great sights, ergonomics, and balance. The trigger is complex, but very good, I have mine adjusted with a little roll, like my Pardini. It has been very reliable, magazines are a little finicky to load. The only real drawback is the complexity of the design for clea...

CCI Std. 0035

Anyone else having trouble with recent lots of CCI Std. vel. 0035 having so much wax on the bullets that they are even gumming up the magazines. I can't get 100 rds. out of clean magazines before the followers start sticking. Previous lot of this were fine. Morini CM22rf and Pardini SP New both are ...

I think Freepistol was headed in the right direction. Visual acuity must stay on the front rear sight alignment and just be aware of the bull. If the alignment changes from front/rear and shifts to front/bull, all bets are off. The more precise you try to hold the front to the bull, the more tail ch...

I agree with Rob on electronic triggers, where trigger weight is primarily spring resistance that does not drop off when the shot breaks. However, with mechanical triggers we have a different dynamic. For example, if you have a 1000 gm. trigger with stage one set at 600 gm. and stage two set at 400 ...

Guy, ISSF rules limit sight radius to 220MM. Given that the wrist is a pivot point (amongst others). The closer the rear is to the pivot, the farther the front sight is away. I think if the front and rear were both 110mm from the wrist pivot is may be even better. Moving the Walther SSP sight as far...

Calcium carbide and water make acetylene, versus the acetylene filled lighter.

Don Nygord used to sell the"Bic" lighter type, "Anschutz black match" looks like the same thing. Their may be shipping restrictions (acetylene), no one seem to sell them in the USA.

James, The elevation screw is very close to the rear sight blade, having little effect on the numbers. The mounting screw location has even less effect on the elevation movement. The numbers in my previous post are certainty accurate enough for shooting, maybe not for a Mars landing. :)

Rover is correct, Sig Hammerli P-240 and the S&W M52 both have bores that are about .002" under nominal. That was the accuracy sweet spot in autos. People keep trying to match undersize bullets in these bores, wrong thing to do. Shoot .357/.358 swadged bullets, thats what the manufactures i...

OK, You ready. The elevation screw has a 80 pitch thread, so each revolution of the screw moves .0125", their are six detents, so .0125/6= .00208, that is the movement per click. Assuming a 6" bbl., the sight radius is 7.125". Cut to the chase, Each click will move point of impact .26...

A formula that has been around for a long time, that my own experience bears out. 1422 x brinell = chamber psi. Example 1422x21 brinell =29862psi. My .45 load with a 10 brinell, swadged bullet, 1422x10=14220psi witch is what my load generates. Matching the bullet's brinell hardness to the pressure i...

When I acquired my CM22RF, about a year ago, aluminum was the only way the RF was available. I believe this is still the case. Mine came with the three 40 gr. steel weights. You can add quite a bit of muzzle weight. (120 gr.)
