I also have an indoor range. It is ISSF compliant. Firing line has a bench with a rubber mat and a 20x spotting scope suspended from the ceiling, I only move my head a couple of inches to use. The target is in a Gehmann trap. Targets are illuminated by a 500w quartz lamp. There is also a chronograph...

I have to use .25 diopter more power to focus on AP front sights because they are closer to the eye. You are shifting to the target because the sights are not in crisp focus, try 1.25 diopter and see if that corrects your problem.

Use Federal primers, they use different chemistry and a thinner cup. They are more sensitive and much easier to ignite. That is the only primer that will reliably ignite in PPC revolvers that have very light hammer strikes.

I find that having a narrow slit of light on each side of the front sight may seem to allow for more accurate alignment, it is not so. It forces one to constantly make minute corrections and over corrections to alignment. Generally the accepted minimum gap per side should be approx 1/2 the width of ...

A formula that has proven itself to me in years of observation and based on the plastic deformation at a given Brinell hardness, 1422 x Brinell hardness = pressure in PSI. This allows the bullet base to upset and obturate, sealing the bore and eliminating gas cutting, a major cause of leading. Cast ...

From what I have noticed, Federal, Winchester and CCI Blazer all make .45 ACP with small pistol primers. If you notice, the cartridges with the small primers have lead free primers. For what ever reason they can't or won't manufacture lead free primers in the large configuration. On a progressive pr...

Conradin, When I acquired the long compensator, I spent hours searching on the web for an appropriate case, to no avail. Out of frustration, I decided to make my own out of 1/2" birch plywood. Inside dimensions are 3.75x8x24. My 84e with the long comp and large grips is 22" long. Hope this...

This technique has been around for over thirty years and sights are available. http://www.armsonusa.com/armsonoeg.html They sell the O.E.G. ( Occulded Eye Gunsight ). This system only works when the user has good binocular vision. I have poor vision in my left eye and cannot use the O.E.G. system. G...

The two Pardini GT-45's that I have worked with have a very short throat in the barrel. Bullets that are seated with more than a mm of the cylindrical portion of the exposed will not work well. A H&G 68 style bullet seated with the bearing surface almost flush with the case mouth works well.

Thank You Rover I have been beating that drum for 20 years. Both S&W M-52 and the Sig-Hammerli P-240 were manufactured with tight bores on purpose. They found them to be More Accurate with groove diameters @ .355, using standard .357/.358 bullets. Sig- Hammerli P-240 shooters think Hammerli was ...

I have been shooting P-240's in .38 WC for close to 30 years. Groove diameters run about .355 as do the barrels in the S&W M-52. Hammerli and S&W determined that barrels that have a groove diameter of .355 are more accurate with swagded .357/.358 bullets. Shoot .357 diameter bullets as they ...

From what I have been able to find out, CCI SV wax is applied by suspending the rounds in a pool of hot wax momentarily. Wax thickness is controlled by wax temperature, the hotter the wax, the thinner the coat. Also ambient air temperature in the plant will affect wax thickness. If it is cold it wil...
