about felt pellets

I just bought an Anschutz 8002 s2. :-)
Manual says not to use felt pellets for cleaning. Could someone please explain me why not?

Keyrigger,
no I haven't done that, but it's worth a try. I kind of felt I did not need any extra weight. Thanks for the tip.

Well now, I've got my rifle back from Austria (+ a coupla extra dings in the wood). Reportedly the people at the factory have cleaned the barrel (dirty barrel was NOT the reason for bad grouping, let me assure you), replaced some O-rings and adjusted muzzle velocity. They put 16 ten-round test targe...

Ahem,
I thought to give the audience a status report, in case anyone is interested;
I just phoned the importer to ask news about my rifle. He said he has sent the gun straight back to the factory. So I trust and hope it gets a thorough examination and proper care to the problem at home in Austria.

Yep, 1725 bullets through my Steyr now, of which circa 400 with the gun attached into bench. After contacting the importer, he sent me ten different lots of H&N Finale Match to test. I have to say that after testing about 25 different good quality bullets now, there's really no improvement. The ...

Yes, thanks again for comments. I've put close to 1300 rounds through my gun now, of which allmost 300 with the gun solidly bolted into bench. 10 different pellet types were tried, RWS mostly, either 4,49 or 4,50mm diameter, R10, H&N, etc. No matter what, the gun makes a hole between 7mm and 8mm...

Copy. Thanks for answers. The reason I was asking, is I have a bit mixed experience w/Steyrs myself. I had a Steyr LP5 until recently, which was totally satisfactory. Then I also had a Steyr M9, which was not so good -reliability problems even with factory ball ammo. My LG100 seems great, but initia...

Hi all. Just found this forum so this is my first post here. I've shot mainly pistols for the last 20 years, ISU/UIT disciplines and IPSC at the regional/national level, with moderate succees only on an exceptionally bright day... Recently I have been drawn more and more back into this formal rifle ...
