Re: Sling position - high or low?
Like you I noticed the sling position of many and thought I'd give it a go. What I will say is that it was more comfortable but I couldn't get it right, you will definitely need an experienced coach to help you get it right!!

Re: reloading technique?
The right arm and hand don't actually do much in position, the arm just rests on the rifle. The entire weight of the rifle is over the left arm. It's better to move the right elbow rather than moving the entire position as you say. When reloading by lifting the right elbow off the ground you've just...

Re: Needing advice on Anschutz rifle models
It depends what you're planning to do, as has been said above! If you're a male of average build planning to do solely prone, then the 1913 is probably best. However if you're a bit slighter, or of the fairer sex, and looking at 3P, the 1907 might be a better bet as it's a bit lighter. Try both, som...

Re: Geminis not popular in finals?
The one international shooter that did use one was Jen McIntosh but she's switched to a Grunig Classic Sport now. I've used the stock before and I liked it and am very much looking forward to getting one. Was just wondering if there was a significant reason for international shooters not using a Gem...

Geminis not popular in finals?
Just a quick query as to why I've never seen a System Gemini stock in a World Cup Final or Olympic Final? Plenty of their buttplates but no stock! Is there a reason for this? (coming from a slightly worried soon-to-be Gemini owner...)

Re: Need a rear site
The basic Anschutz rear sight (6805) is perfectly fine, I've used it for nearly 2 years with no problem! But if you could stretch your budget a bit I'd go for the 7002 Anschutz rear sight. Not only is it canting but even if your position is not canted the 20 click adjustment is never a bad thing!

Tim,
Ah, I hadn't thought of that! In that case, I'll buy a raiser.

Re: Nesom extension tube
Hi Gary, Thanks for your advice, I can't find any larger plastic elements online but I might ask my local shop if they've got any in demo stock, before buying the High End. I'll be using the Centra Score tunnel, might get a 4mm raiser once I've put it on the tube as I imagine it might be a bit higher.

Re: Nesom extension tube
Hi Tim,
Thanks for your reply, I am aware of the spreadsheet on Stirton but unfortunately I am still not verified for the website!
I am appalling at maths, but you have got 1.6 extra for the 12 inch tube, is there a specific sum that can be done or should 1.6 be fine?

Re: Nesom extension tube
Thanks Tim. Yeah I'm aware of the foresight thing, I'm buying an M22 foresight tunnel to upgrade from my M18, mainly because I want one. I currently use a 3.7 insert and apparently one needs 0.1 extra for every inch of extension tube so would need a 4.9. However I might just buy an adjustable iris, ...

Nesom extension tube
Afternoon all, I have taken the advice of a few of you on this forum and will shortly be ordering an extension tube from Barry Nesom. I am a 6 foot 2 male who has my handstop pretty much at the front end of the stock (Precise) and the butt all the way out, I assume a 12 inch one is the best length t...

Re: Best barrel extension/bloop tube
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure the extra weight would be a bad thing, I have my handstop really quite far forward so the balance being shifted forward might be nice. I'm going to try the Grunig Hammershark just to see what the extended sight base feels like (I will most definitely be getting a t...

Re: Best barrel extension/bloop tube
Mark,
Thanks for the advice! I'm not sure I'm looking for a tuner (although having said that I'm still not entirely sure what they do) so what are the reasons for buying the Bee Sting over anything else?
Chris

Best barrel extension/bloop tube
Morning all, I am looking at buying a barrel extension for my 1913 rifle in a Precise stock and I was wondering if there was a general consensus on what barrel extension was the best? The two I'm currently looking at are the MEC strike and the Anschutz precise one, the price difference between the t...

Re: Customising Anschutz Precise
Remmy23, thank you for your advice, I found the same website only an hour before your comment!
I think that is a good option, I have emailed them and they only heat the stock to 80 Celsius, far safer I think!

Re: Customising Anschutz Precise
I'm just a bit worried about changing a £1200 stock (especially the threads) by a few millimetres by putting it in an oven! Also, there are tiny bits of plastic in the rear end of the stock it'd be a disaster when those melted!

Customising Anschutz Precise
Good afternoon, I bought an Anschutz 1913 with a precise stock last year. In the year that I've had it the shine has dulled and this, coupled with someone in my club getting the new black version, has made me want to colour the stock. I've explored the option of getting it powder coated but the idea...
