The VFG cleaning system is what I believe is depicted in the book on Olympic Pistol Shooting by Reinkemeir & Buhlmann, and that actually was what triggered my question (no pun intended). I looked online and found mostly rod-based kits.
Where can the VFG cleaning system be purchased?

Re: scuba tank adapter
If you have a yoke valve (also known as an A-clamp valve) on your scuba tank and want an adapter so you can connect a DIN fitting, the adapter that dschaller recommended is what you want. In addition to scuba shops, you can find it at Champion's Choice and PilkGuns. They run about $50 or so. I use i...

Cleaning the air pistol
What is the best way to clean the bore of a Morini CM 162 EI? The barrel does not break open like a spring gun, and cleaning a bore from the muzzle is to be avoided. I have felt pellets. I know that may recommend firing cleaning pellets through a spring gun is not advised as a felt pellet may not pr...

Re: Is hand gripper of any use to AIR-PISTOL shooters?
After a lay-off of many years, I recently took up AP shooting again. I was shocked at how much wobble and jerkiness there was in my hold. I have started a series of exercises, and my hold has gotten much better. So based on the unscientific sample of one person, I say YES! For hand exercises, I have...

Re: STEYR LP10E
Try using rechargeable batteries. If there is something wrong with the pistol, it won't cure that, of course, but many electronic devices last much longer with rechargeable batteries than non-rechargeable alkaline batteries. You'll need to have two sets of batteries, one set in the pistol and one se...

Re: Morini CM 162EI -- Dry firing with a charged air cylinde
Thanks for all the responses. Now I get it. I didn't realize that lifting the loading lever also cocked the hammer (because I didn't realize that there was a hammer and sear arrangement, which I am familiar with in firearms).

Re: Morini CM 162EI -- Dry firing with a charged air cylinde
So how does the pistol know when to release air from the cylinder into the chamber (i.e., that a pellet is in the chamber) and when not to?tufty wrote:Dry firing with a cylinder is exactly the same as dry firing without one, turning the switch on only activates the trigger

Re: aperture for aging eyes and open sights
Good point. I've already tried some reading glasses, and the ones I've tried don't work for this purpose. I suppose I could try some different strengths since they're so cheap.

Re: aperture for aging eyes and open sights
Being in my mid-60's and not able to see the front sight without glasses (or with them), I recently bought the Merit optical attachment, which has an iris diaphragm that allows to you adjust the size of the aperture. It does the trick. It does cut down on the light somewhat, at least in the shaded a...

Thanks. I have a copy of the instruction booklet, and I also have the document you linked to. Before posting, I read the instructions.
Perhaps I am missing something, but I don't see anything that answers the questions I posed.

Morini CM 162EI -- Dry firing with a charged air cylinder
I dry fire my recently acquired Morini with an empty air cylinder, so no problem there. But I'd like to know if there is a way to dry fire it with a charged air cylinder (without damaging the pistol, and ideally reducing the amount of compressed air). Does the pistol have a mechanism that detects th...

RWS (Diana) 6M
I have an RWS 6M (which I believe to be the same model as a Diana 6M), which probably needs to be tuned up/overhauled. I have recently acquired a Morini CM 162EI, which means that I won't be using the 6M any more. I'd like to sell it so someone else can benefit from having an entry-level airgun. Wha...

Re: Best pellets for Morini 162
For complete success make sure you get the .177 pellets. You're new here Rixter but you'll soon get to know when Rover's being sarcastic. To start with, treat it as his default position. Either ignore him completely or don't let his attitude put you off using this board. Not to worry. I know that t...

Best pellets for Morini 162
I have a Morini 162 short-version on the way to me. Which pellet weight would be better? 7 grains (.45 gm) or 8.2 grains (.53 gm)? One dealer said the lighter weight and another said the heavier weight. What say you guys? I have been using Meisterkugeln in my FWB 6M (aka Diana 6M). Any recommendatio...
