Re: Suction Cup Iris for Glasses?
I tried the adjustable glasses from Adlens. They work OK as regular glasses, but the clearest focus is in the center, looking straight ahead. They won't work well for the majority of shooters, where the head & sighting position is off axis. Which is why I said it's an option to test out if a le...

Re: Suction Cup Iris for Glasses?
According to my local optician, who has set himself up to be the local expert for shooting glasses, the glasses for pistol shooting should not be set for the front sight but for the hyperfocal point between the sights and the target. If its set for the sights you won't see the target usefully. This...

Re: Suction Cup Iris for Glasses?
I see on the Targets Canada website that they have separate shooting glasses frames for pistol use and for rifle use. But it's not clear to me how they might differ. Can they be used for pistol AND rifle shooting? Lenses for pistol are larger. Mine is a 42mm diameter. For rifle, I think 37mm is sta...

I think that's a piezo-electric reaction, (as I recall) something to do with how the sugars fracture.Rover wrote:Obviously, none of you guys have bitten a Wintergreen Lifesaver in a dark room.
As to the airgun, I'd suspect dieseling if the particles are actually emitting light.

Re: Importing Air Rifle and Sius to US
1. While purchasing a new FWB 700 / 800 Compressed Air Riles do we pay import duty in US ? what is the % rate now a days? If you are buying it here, you won't pay duty, but may need to pay sales tax depending on where you live and where you buy from (and possibly how you buy.) You may run into impo...

Re: Air pistol backstop: ballistic nylon, or kevlar, or ?
Question is, is the OP talking about a primary pellet stop, or something behind that to stop a stray pellet? For the primary stop: I built a plywood box to fit an AP target, and hung either 4 or 6 (don't remember now) pieces of kevlar material, weighted at the bottom, but free to swing. It lasted ab...

Re: Morini 84E Front Sight Blade Height for 50 Ft Targets
Those measurements are for the front sight width, not the height.
I shoot a mechanical trigger model Morini, but I believe there is plenty of elevation adjustment in the rear sight to shoot 50 ft vs 33.

Re: FWB P34 cylinder fill problem
Don't know about FWB, but Morini's adaptor is a non-opening type. If it wan't the cylinder would empty when you bleed the pump with the cylinder in place. Fill occurs when you put reverse pressure on the valve.

Re: .32 bullet source
Magnus Bullets has 98gr DEWC (.314) in hard cast lead for $33.14/500. They shoot well enough for me (which may not be saying much...)

Re: Question about fill adaptor
They can be filled at dive shops (well, to be fair, those who take the time, effort, and expense to get the adaptor.) The dive shop I used to visit (shut down now) had a screw-on adaptor with a short hose to a 200 BAR DIN fitting. No idea if it was a custom job just a really exotic off the shelf ite...

Not sure which clips you're looking for, but as I recall they are standard (albeit small) metric e-clips.

FWB 65 seal replacement
Apologies if this is a rehash. I read in one spot that is is possible to replace the breech seal and piston buffer (the little knob guy at the bottom of the breech) without removing the piston. Is that the case - A matter of prying out the breech seal and buffer and inserting new ones? I have an (in...

Re: aperture for aging eyes and open sights
I stepped away from bullseye pistol for about 25-30 years. On return, I found I can't see the sights clearly. Looks like a combination of age related focusing problems and an out-of-date corrective prescription, but my solution (hopefully temporary) is pretty cheap: I took some back plastic sheet (no...
