Re: Best target holders
Most you'll see at Georgia competitions will be based on the ones you'll find on the Georgia 4-H web site. You will occasionally see a few of the tall pellet trap style holders.

Re: Daisy 499 question
What I do with any new gun we get. 1 pull the plunger assembly. 2 Clean out all factory oil and grease. 3 lightly sand the plunger head to remove any flashing or burrs. 4 re-oil the foam ring. I use 5w-30 full synthetic. 5 re-assemble and put about 30 shots down range from a bench rest. 6 completely...

For the last two years at the Daisy Nationals they've invited all coaches with 3P expererience to try the prototyps and give input. It appears they've implimented a lot of the recomendations.

Best advise I can give is make it fun. Play games. Try cutting cards in half. Anything that will make his triger time fun. If they're not haveing fun theres no point in doing it. Forget about scores for now.

Re: Ball bearings at DNBBGCM?
Actually, the top competitive teams have for years sorted daisy bbs by hand for nationals. It is an amazingly hard and long process. It takes weeks to get enough for a team. Last year (2017), I went through 12,000 bbs to get 150 for my child to shoot. That sounds like the same amount of fallout we ...

I believe many of the rule changes are done in order to justify the existence of the rules committee.

Re: Student Air Rifle Program released
It is not fair to those who chose to abide by the rules. That's what many shooters and coaches don't understand. We are not applying the rules to penalize shooters, we are applying them to support the shooters who abide by the rules. I've found that many rules serve no other purpose than to be abid...

This is the one we recommend to anyone looking for an upgrade to the Avanti. Stays in place better and I’ve never seen one break. This site has a good selection of shooting apparel as well.

Re: Two questions for experienced youth groups
First you cannot be afraid to offend when it comes to addressing safety concerns especially when working with children. We often say in todays political climate we're one accident away from being shut down. Safety expectations should be clear and often announced. If you feel like a broken record the...

Ball bearings at DNBBGCM?
At last years match, a lot of coaches and myself brought up the desire to be able to use ball bearings at the Daisy National. Later on they sent and email asking if we'd be willing to pay extra if they sold them. Later they asked us to send a sample of what we currently use. Since them I've not hear...

Re: Looking for a 3 position air rifle
For sporter the field is pretty much in this order. Air Arms T200 (Wood stock runs on compressed air looks like a precision rifle, priced at the upper limit to be considered a sporter) Crosman Challenger (Does what its supposed to do, runs on compressed air and CO2) Daisy 887 (Works but has bugs due...

Re: Take Home Rifles
We have the parents write a check for the replacement amount, and sign an agreement. We hold that check until the we get the gun back at the end of the season. We've never had to cash a check. However 4H rules won't let us do that anymore, so officially we had to stop.

"The reason they cannot convert away from integer is that really only a few of us have electronic targets or ORION. The only way I can see them going to decimal in the 10m events is to require that hosts have one or the other above." .0 - .9 decimal by hand is impossible. But rating by .0...
