Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

George, To clarify what I posted regarding how I'm expanding my cases I'm using the .317 diameter on the 32P die to flare the mouth of the case. I'm only using the .314 diameter on the .314 - .318 die. The bullet seats well and squarely in the .317 dia. case mouth at the seating station. When I trie...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

I have a set up that works now. I run the .311 expander into the case to just before the .315 dia in the first station, then run the 32P plug in until the .317 dia goes in the case about 3/32" in the second station and then run the .314 plug in about 3/8" in the last station. Bullets seat ...

Should have mentioned that even badly bulged cases fall right into my gauge.

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

George, I have the Cadillac version of the tools set up in my press. Do I need to cut the NOE expander plugs down so that just 1/4" or so of the smaller diameter on each die is left. If I try to get the plug down to the point where the + .004 diameter engages I end up with a bulge in the case a...

Re: Target Pistols and CT weapons ban

When the law changed there was a grace period in which current owners of these guns could register them. It's legal for these folks to have and use them but not legal to sell or transfer them in state.

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

As mentioned in another topic on this list, my 62 gr T&B bullets chrono at 915 fps avg with 1.6 gr N 310. I would like to get the velocity down to 775 or so and suspect that I may need to get down to 1.3 - 1.4 gr of N310 to accomplish that. I haven't tested my powder measure for repeatability at...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

Thanks oldcaster. I checked the Lee site and don't see an FCD for 32 auto, only 32 long. They do have a custom option but that would probably cost the same as the sizing die. If I have to go with a custom size there's a $30.00 grinding charge for a total cost of $59.00. They do stock some oversize d...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

George,
I'm waiting to hear back from Lee w/respect to sizes they now have in stock, asked for .333 / .334. In the final expanded case, how deep is the .318 diameter?

I spoke with Starline this morning. They manufacture 32 ACP brass to .011 nominal wall thickness.

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

George, This confirms what I was thinking. Leed dies are only $15.00 each at Midway so I'll get three of them and set them up permanently in another tool head.Is it necessary for this one to be the CNC clamped variety? I already have a standard Dillon toolhead I could use for this purpose. Following...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

gwpotte, I just measured some of my new Starline brass cases. They measure .3312 to .3315 OD and .3085 ID. I measured the OD with a Mic so that measurement is within a tenth or so. The ID measured .3085. I used a digital caliper for the ID which isn't the best method but I'd guess I'm pretty close o...

Re: Pardini HP .32 acp stovepipe

oldcaster, Thanks for the input. I will get set up to load lead as described in the prior postings. A couple of questions: Are carbide oversize sizing dies available from Lee? I couldn't find that on their website. Will I need to segregate brass used for jacketed rounds from those used for lead? (I ...

Re: Pardini HP .32 acp stovepipe

Today was the first chance I had to chrono some of my 32ACP loads. Temp. was 55 deg. For Travis 62 gr LSWC, 314 OD, .855 coal, .332 crimp, 1.6 gr N310, CCI primers---916 fps avg vel, 15.1 std dev For Hornady 60 gr JHP, .3112 OD, .894 coal, .330 crimp, 1.8 gr N310, CCI primers--- 947 fps avg vel, 25....

Re: Pardini HP .32 acp stovepipe

I modified the lips on my mags (6) and shot about 200 rounds through them today. No stovepipes or any other problems. I haven't changed the springs yet and will shoot the gun some more to see if that change is really necessary for my gun.

Re: Pardini HP .32 acp stovepipe

I believe that I need to do the mod to my mag lips. Just to be sure I understand, is the 9/32 drill supposed to stay in the lips until the end as it is pulled out?

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

I'm using the plastic one. Its extremely accurate at 1.6 gr and above, about +- 2 milligrams which is about +- 0.03 grains. I haven't used it below that weight yet so I don't know how it behaves there.

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

oldcaster and gwpotte, Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. gwpotte, I am also using a Dillon 550 b with the same Arendondo powder slide and micrometer adjustment that you are. I'm using the standard Dillon powder funnel to bevel the case for bullet insertion. Does the Lyman tool replace the Di...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

I'm at 1.6 gr of N310 for the .880 coal. Any recommendations for .855? I haven't had a chance to chrono these yet but I understand that 750 to 775 fps is the sweet spot for accuracy. Is that correct?
