Re: Scammer has scammed-pleasehelp
Did the victim of this crime contact the Attorney General in the state the rifle was supposed to come from? If no help from the state AG. Then FBI local office. Then Secret Service local office because Secret Service is still a part of the Treasury Department. Many of these same criminals are into c...

William in New Hampshire, USA your statement about home invasions is incorrect. Here is one of many examples of home invasion: http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/motorsports/nascar-team-owner-richard-childress-fires-shots-at-intruders-who-broke-into-his-home/ar-BBH60fi?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=LENDHP These ...

OrlandoProneXgun, You may not think so but this is what you seek: www.steelchickens.com Not an equipment race. Standing unsupported. Wind and conditions are a major part of the game. No coat. No sling. No gloves. Regulations limit the simple vest that competitors are allowed to wear. It is the off-s...

Re: UK ban on .50 cal and Manually Actuated Release System?
What is being done in Britain to gain firearm rights back and prevent the passage of new nonsense laws? Brits, do you have a group that fundraises, lobbies your parliament, and uses actual statistics in favor of gun rights? If not, why don't you organize such a group? I think guys like Tim S who fre...

Re: Steyr air rifle
There is a lot of misinformation in this thread. Steyr has nothing to do with Hammerli. Hammerli and Walther are owned by Umarex. Umarex makes toy pellet guns as cheap as $30.00. Ever try to talk to a actual person at Umarex? Not going to happen. Here is the link. At the bottom of that page it says:...

Re: Pole Dancing - An Olympic Sport??
It only took the Olympic people slightly over 100 years to discover that you could take one of the horizontal, uneven bars away or one of the horizontal, parallel bars away, mount the remaining pole vertically and have a new "sport" in less space. What an engineering feat!

Re: Trigger pulsing?
I have heard many coaches describe the trigger finger of the Olympic shooter as being the equivalent of the legs of the 100 meter Olympic sprinter. The Olympic sprinter makes a few practice, "warmup" starts out of the blocks before the real start. The shooter makes a few movements in the f...

My wife has worked more than 25 years for a clinic that tests employees in industry for lead and other chemicals. Mainly the battery manufacturing industry. Years ago our 12 year old son and I were shooting indoors for hours every day, melting lead, casting bullets, and tumbling brass. She started t...

Re: Steyr air rifle
The story goes that Anschutz had to buy a portion of Steyr to acquire the Steyr Stabilizer shot deadening system because Anschutz recognized the Steyr system was better than anything they could come up with. Steyr-sportswaffen supposedly needed some working capital at that time so it was a good fit....

Re: Physical training
I have a different opinion from most people. Continue powerlifting. Proper strength training never hurts anything. Strength always helps. Just make sure you are in good cardio shape by adding running or cycling to your workout routine. Cardio as said by others lowers resting heart rate. Stay loose t...

It was announced this weekend that the Texas State Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Championship will be held in Austin, TX. in 2018. The Texas Championships are always well attended.

I edited my post changing from "Red Rock" to "Round Rock"; the city just north of Austin. I meant Round Rock.

Re: Getting back in after a really long break / Walther KK50
This may not be a popular suggestion here on targettalk but I would look into shooting Smallbore and Air Rifle Silhouette before you spend money on the KK500. Reasons are that you have a very nice Silhouette club right there in Austin instead of the need to fly to Houston and one of the top Silhouet...

Will the Anschutz 9015 Grip Fit the Steyr LG110?
Will the Anschutz 9015 grip fit the Steyr LG110? I cannot find a Steyr LG110 grip that is comfortable for me. The Steyr grips are just not the correct size or shape. There are no 9015's nearby that I can examine to see if they will fit the Steyr. The old Steyr LG100 grips fit me great without any mo...

Re: Should I learn to shoot pistol or rifle?
If you are just starting in your late 30's, a good place for an introduction to the shooting sports is NRA Silhouette competition. You can start with a minimum of equipment. Just a rifle and small quantity of ammunition. The competitors will loan you equipment to shoot your first match and help you ...

Re: Air Rifles
Do not forget about the Steyr LG110 that our host Pilkguns sells. I shot an Anschutz 2002CA for many years in an aluminum stock. I bought the Steyr and it just never felt as comfortable as the Anschutz but I kept shooting the Steyr because I liked the trigger better. Picked up the 2002CA a few weeks...

Re: bizarre observation from world cup changwon 2015
I always thought a good reason for the pre-aim in the shot sequence was to make sure we were on our own target and did not cross fire on someone else's target. Maybe not a problem in the newer, larger facilities but still a potential disaster in the older club level facilities using paper targets an...

Purchased 6 Digit Anschutz Questions
Just purchased an Anschutz with 6 Digit Serial number 147XXX. There are some strange but good things about the rifle. A new Lilja 6 groove barrel was installed, action threaded and new 5018 trigger group installed in a Robertson Composite stock. It has a wing safety and the back of the bolt is not c...

Re: Walther LG30
When trying to obtain repairs on our LG30 from Umarex in early 2013 I had an interesting conversation with Homer at Champion's Choice in LaVergne, TN. Homer told me that the AR20 he sells has upgraded sights that are better than what the AR20 is normally packaged with. Better sights might be worth t...
