cz 455 Varmint front sight base
I was curious what people were using to install a front globe sight on a CZ 455 heavy barrel. There are no front sights as it's just set up for a scope. Does anybody use this rifle and how did you modify it. What rear sights did you use? Thanks.

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....
so, i found this stock. i finally got around to doing my first biathlon race. my assumption is for club competition i don't see the point in getting a rifle more then $500, but realistically don't think I'll get what i need under $100. I thought about a couple options. One was the Savage Mark II TR ...

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....
http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/MARKIIFSS So, today I'm looking for a .380 bolt action on the clearanc rifle rack at Cabela's and I find this rifle sitting there. It's the Savage MK II FSS, with open sights. I was just wondering if this would transform into a decent biathlon rifle. It's too...

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....
So I've come across this rifle. How does this compare and is this something that I can drop into an ESA stock? Is this a good price? I've seen some similar at three times this price.

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....
So I was at Cabelas and found a really nice stock for the Ruger 10/22, but everything I've seen is that it is semi-auto. Do they make a 10/22 in a bolt action? Yes, I really don't want to spend a whole lot of money since I will only have time to do only a handful of races at this point if I do any. ...

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....
so my local gunshop has that same rifle shown in the picture above. are those actually snow sights that are installed? i did notice they don't have the flip up cover that goes over the barrel and sights. they've got a great price on it so just wondering what other mods for straps and spare magazine ...

cheap biathlon alternative....
I was wondering what would make a good cheap biathlon rifle alernative. I don't want to spend $3000 for a rifle, nor do I want to spend $1000. I've read the Marlin 2000 makes a good alternative, but those are hard to come by. What's the cheapest alternative that would be legal to use in a race. I ma...
