Re: R.I.P. - Art Cook - 1948 Olympic Gold Medalist - 50m Smallbore Prone

In the 2001/2002 timeframe when Al Fehlings was running junior matches at Quantico, I would help him set up, my daughter would shoot in the first relay and then I would take the Robinson High School team to lunch in Triangle. Art would often ask to join us. He enjoyed talking to the juniors. After t...

High School adaptive shooter

We are wrapping up the season for the Potomac High School Rifle League. This year, for the first time, we had an adaptive shooter (SH-2) compete in the league as a regular member of one of the high school teams. I believe that this is the first time in the USA that an adaptive shooter has competed i...

Re: Homer Pearson

10 + years ago I coached NRA National Junior Smallbore Camp at Camp Perry. Homer's birthday was usually during that week. Russ Evans (the head Coach) would "arrange" for Homer to come over to the camp. Vicky would have a big cake and all the campers would sing happy birthday. Homer would a...

Re: stabilising wheelchair

5 Years ago I started coaching Wounded Warriors in Northern Virginia. I also found it had to get much if any information. I just got back from 8 days at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado springs. There were lots of variations in ways to stabilize chairs. Some people have a separate chair (s...

FWB-700 problems

I coach a Wounded Warrior team in the Northern Virginia area. I am also the unofficial armorer for the Potomac High School Rifle League. I got two right and Two left hand FWB 700s for our Wounded Warrior program about 4 years ago. About 6 months after I got them, one just stopped working. If you tak...

My club has bought a lot of equipment for Wounded Warriors, but it seems that we always have the wrong size jackets and gloves. Today Bob Foth and I were fini...
