Re: Hammerli 208s - problem with a trigger pull weight consistency
Thanks a lot for you insight. The sear engagement is clean and it works crisply but everything is rather dry so I'm gonna lube it slightly and see if it helps. I don't understand the concern about a trigger stop. It cannot be too close because then it halts a trigger shoe before engaging the sear. N...

Hammerli 208s - problem with a trigger pull weight consistency
Some time ago I purchased a Hammerli 208s in a reasonably good condition (1989). The problem is the trigger pull weight. In theory it is set around 1050-1100g and it usually holds it but not always. When I check it with a standard ISSF 1000g test weight (vertical position procedure) it sometimes hol...

Re: LP10e bolt "dent"
Thanks a lot for your insight. The direct problem was obvious - the burr that was formed on the bolt. I filed it down and everything goes smoothly now. I don’t think that it was caused by a vigorous opening the bolt. The reason was rather hitting the bolt by a striker (part #19) which may have happe...

LP10e bolt "dent"
My LP10e has started recently showing some resistance while opening and closing the bolt. I removed it and noticed a kind of "dent/imprint" with a small bulge at its end (see the picture). Any idea why that may have happened? Beside that, everything works ok, the velocity is stable (ca. 15...

Re: New Manurhin MR73 Match shipment arrives in Oz.
Oh, it's really fat - .3145" in my case. H&N .314" L works quite ok.jbshooter wrote:Has anyone slugged the barrel of an MR73 in .32 to determine bore/groove diameters?

Re: Labradar
Simple setup, ready to use right out of the box. I use it for measuring pistol projectiles only (32-9-45) and almost exclusively at indoor ranges. It beats "optical" chronographs in this conditions since it's not affected by (artificial) light sources. I use European version which has limi...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
My very carefully fired shots off my home made rest (a modified HySkore Parallax Pistol Vise Shooting Rest) nearly equal ransom accuracy at 25 yards (had to replicate at 50 though). Can you post a picture of this... I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to a ranson rest to test some .32 S&W Lon...

Re: .45 "Marine Load"
Primers turned out to be a crucial component in my case. Change of primers from CCI300 to Winchester LP and a charge increased to 4,3gr of N310 resulted in nice, tight groups.
Many thanks for your valuable comments and suggestions.

Re: .45 "Marine Load"
I've just learned something new about primers. I replaced CCI300 regular primers with Fiocchi Large Pistol and the muzzle velocity dropped even lower. With 4.2gr of N310 and a CCI primer I was able to get ca. 730fps. The same load with a Fiocchi primer accelerates the bullet to barely 660fps! Even w...

Re: .45 "Marine Load"
Interesting lead. Winchester and Federal LP primers seem to be suited for both regular and magnum loads at the same time. CCI on the other hand offer two separate products. I'll try to get some WW primers and check if there's any difference. On the other hand I won't dare to use primers which are sp...

Re: .45 "Marine Load"
Thanks a lot for the invaluable remarks. I'll keep working on my loads. Here, on the other side of the pond, it's much easier to get VV powder than Bullseye. I'll stick to VV for a while. .45ACP is not a very popular caliber down here, so the choice of brass is also quite limited. GECO is known for ...

Re: .45 "Marine Load"
I've been using this gun for IPSC/IDPA only until now and its accuracy wasn't my first concern. I've been using cheap factory ammo mostly. It has changed now and I'm trying to squeeze something out of it. I don't have a proof that a gun is capable of shooting tight groups but on the other hand I hav...

.45 "Marine Load"
I came across the article about the famous .45 Marine Load and decided to replicate one. I don't have Winchester brass at hand so I used brand new GECO cases primed with CCI300 primers and this resulted in such a cartridge: COL: 1.200" projectile: Nosler 185gr JHP CC powder: VV N310 4,1gr case:...

Re: Center fire 25m competition pistols
The gun qualifies (P210-6 9x19). Ammo unfortunately not (handload based on Hornady XTP 115gr, a jacketed projectile). According to factory it can do even better. My control target shows 40mm group shot at the distance of 50m. Trigger pull is quite acceptable (3lbs), so the only issue is the right am...

Re: Is reloading for the 32 S&W long as difacult as it sound
I've been mastering my 32S&W reloading process with Dave's (fc60) invaluable help for a while and now my rounds beat Lapua factory ammo every time. As fellow shooters have already stated, your Pardini probably requires .314 bullets and the trick lies in a proper brass sizing. I also use an overs...

Re: Load for .32 S&W Long
I tested several factory ammo batches with rather average results (maybe except Lapua). Here are some samples, again at 25m only.

Re: Load for .32 S&W Long
With Dave's invaluable support I've managed to produce such a load: Lapua case, CCI primer, VV N310 1,39gr, H&N .314L bullet. Though I tested it on 25m distance only the results look quite promising in terms of potential performance on 50yds. I tested my rounds with Pardini HP supported on a san...

Re: Loading 32acp
I've got a Dillon powder funnel that actually incorporates an expander for 32S&W (#13171). I don't use it since it is .3110" only. I don't think there are any other Dillon .32 expanders available. Though I don't load 32ACP, I also needed a .314 expander for my 32S&W loads a while ago. D...

Re: FP60
Can anyone tell me what is the exact BRAND of the FP60 free pistol? Hammerli? Walther? Walther-Hammerli? Does it really matter? Hammerli is now a part of Umarex, like Walther, a brand rather than a company anymore. Whole production has been moved to Germany. Is the German version better or worse th...
