Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
Back from ISAS Dortmund and some indoor 50m fun... not me unfortunately but a very helpful Anschutz servicing visit instead. I picked up all the catalogues and have to post another rig for the compendium. It's the MEC portable. Some in depth discussion with people who seem to know gave me the impres...

Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
Thanks for the compendium of possibilities and thoughts. Kenny B, seeing as you might be a prime user, what do you think about rotation? That would change a lot in the design... but has anyone proved it makes a difference? Accurate return to battery after rotation with recoil sounds like a minefield...

Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
Thanks for all the pics and ideas. Guy's idea of a modified leaf spring version to accept equipment rail mounting is interesting and as I assume it's been used to develop and test the tuning tube, it should be a reliable combination. I was always uncomfortable with clamping the sides of the stock. I...

Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
As long as the rifle returns to the same point I don't think it matters what happens on the return. Sorry Peter, I didn't quite explain. I understand the recoil point, but my reservation is about turning the whole thing into a big tuning fork after the shot has gone and the rifle jolts back. I have...

Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
Thanks Bryan. That's useful re the Starik, as that's one of my main motivations.
I confess I might put my money on EPS, as even with shipping it works out a lot less £, although I might need to be more patient.

Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
My choice would be http://tec-hro.de/schiesssport/en/rifle-equipment/327-tec-hro-ammunition-test-bench.html as I think it would allow the rifle to move closest to the movement when shooting from the shoulder. Thanks Peter, that's one under consideration. My query about the Tec-hro is what happens o...

Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
Thanks Tim, I think that must be, although it seems a bit hit and miss to let the stock/post interface interfere with a lateral force by leaning the rifle onto it. I like the look of the vertical post under the EPS better, as it seems more repeatable and balanced. On a related point, the Thune has a...

Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
...I assume they all have some way of keeping the rifle upright but while still letting the rifle recoil? Cheers Martin Martin, I have the same question. The ESP has a post at the bottom that runs in a slot on the base that I assumed took care of that, but on closer inspection the HPS and Gemini do...

Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
Paul, Tim, thanks for this. I like the look of it and wonder whether the shipping will be affordable, but the comparison with the HPS price, even with VAT, duty and shipping might just work. I love the fact that ESP/Bill Earnest doesn't have an email address or website, so I will take great pleasure...

Re: Commercial .22 test rigs
Patriot, I know what you mean... hours of 'creative' thinking and talking have gone into this, but it seems like I'm circling round a project I don't have the time, knowledge or funds to progress. Keep an eye out here and hopefully we'll learn something. I should've put links down for the items I fi...

Commercial .22 test rigs
I'm having one of my periodic obsessions with putting together a moveable bench test rig at our club, without spending tooo much money. I look online at the Thune, HPS and Tec-Hro off the shelf, equipment rail mounting .22 rigs, pause, then decide it's too much £££ to gamble on the wrong one and the...

Re: What ever happened to Louginets?
Sadly it seems he was banned from the team for an undisclosed breach of team rules, despite a written protest from all the team coaches.
There was a Facebook storm a few months ago, mainly in Russian.
I'm afraid I don't have more details.

I'm glad to hear you've found a solution that works for you. I've heard theories about variable cant and IR interference and the need for a component fix but not warm up or movement. Ours seemed to drift however long it was on and if anything got worse over time. RIKA first said that it needed new c...

Seeking quality ISSF prone match in N Europe 12/13 July
I'm looking for a reasonable quality electronic target / decimal scoring prone small bore rifle match somewhere in northern Europe, as near to the UK as possible, on or around the w/e 12/13 July? Any info will be gratefully received. The Granada WCH warm up meeting the week after is too late and too...

I've just seen this... You're not alone. Despite my best efforts I couldn't get an answer from RIKA that convinced me on this subject; and this despite having sent the unit back to Germany from the UK for testing and repair. It's a long saga, but a shooter in Ireland also reported this online elsewh...

I've got the lowdown on this one, as my wife started shooting with one of these. It consists of a pair of standard issue soviet 2 point rifle slings; one for round the arm and one for the fore end to arm loop, with a customised link between the two. I'll find out if I can get hold of any more, as my...

Chris You really seem to have the spreadsheet bug... and good on you for that; and thanks for all your help in advance! Please tell me if I'm being too ambitious, but there are a few display points that I thought I should collect from earlier in the thread, in case they help. The first is the possib...

Chris Thanks! Nothing short of spectacular... I'm no excel expert, in fact not far from rookie, so if there's anyone out there up for working out how to convert for standard +/- co-ordinate input from the KME (data ealier in the string and I think Sius and Meyton are similar), rather than the appare...

Shot plotting and analysis programme
I've reaslised that the thread I started in Shooters Lounge (here: http://targettalk.org/viewforum.php?f=6) is probably more relevant to Olympic Air and Smallbore shooters. It now contains some info about a 'universal' Softshot programme from RIKA (who I'm waiting on a reply from about KME electroni...
