Re: Drive U nutz pellet test
In all my testing using 25 or 30 shot groups, I NEVER saw a flyer. I saw some tight groups opened by one shot that went out of the group by LESS than a quarter pellet width (a little bulge). I'm afraid I can't get tooo excited by the possibility (maybe) of a 10.7 over a 10.9. You never saw a flyer ...

Re: Friendly advice to new people: ball joint allen wrenches
Harbor Freight makes T-handle wrenches and they're decent, but nothing beats Bondhus or Wiha

Re: Steyr grips: waxed?
Although a soft wax would get caught in the stippled surface of Steyr (Well, Morini) grips, it's just fine for wood. A go-to finish for woodworkers since.....forever. Unless you glob it on it's not going to get slippery, and remember your hands eventually coat the grip in oil anyway. That's why grip...

Straightening my Back in Offhand
My offhand air rifle position is pretty terrible, with a pretty bad bend in my back. It's been fine thus far but I've been starting to feel soreness during long matches, which goes away in a matter of minutes but now it's time to change it for the better. My fore-end riser is maxed out to 3.9" ...

Re: Another "which air rifle" post
I'm very happy with my FWB 700 aluminum but I just wish my particular one was newer. I've had first hand experience with a LG400 competition and it's very nice. You can't go wrong with any quality air rifle on the market, just personal preference. They all feel surprisingly different.

Nope, never. I don't plan on cleaning my match air rifle until I find evidence that it's beneficial because I'd have to take my barrel off to use a rod.

Glass bedding is always advised but not needed if you're seeing sufficient results. Pick up a torque wrench (fatwrench for instance) and see what torque your gun likes, or if it's indifferent

Re: Pros/Cons of shooting Rifle pellets in Pistol?
"The reason why they use the heavy version is because it gives you tighter groups." Oh, bullshit! In his "exhaustive test research" he never looked at my multiple test reports on TT. They are the reason so many have switched to RWS Basic Diabolo on TT. Basically, there is NO dif...

Re: The proper oil for different types of airguns
When I rebuild spring airguns I use CRC engine assembly lube with extra Molybdenum. Works great and has held up for years.

Re: Loose Air Cylinder?
Wipe the grease with a dry cloth and replace the o-ring. The new o-ring should be enough to prevent the cylinder from unscrewing. Hope this helps Are you suggesting keeping the threads dry with no grease, or to relube after you replace the O-ring? I was always under the impression tank threads shou...

Re: What kind of Air Pistol?
I like my LP10. "Old school" by 2017 standards now that the EVO model has come out but still very competitive and easy to use. Not exactly motionless when fired but it's a huge upgrade to anything I've ever shot before.

Re: Advantages of clear sights
I've always preferred clear plastic inserts over wires because they install without much POI change and seem to have a crisper edge. I've never tried them without a front sight tunnel so I can't speak for those. But once you go adjustable you probably won't be back, they're very handy to have even i...

Re: Handstop for Walther LG400
I believe I fit the handstop that came on my Anschutz on a friends Walther once or twice before, the base has to be unscrewed (loosened) more than for anschutz or FWB rails. I have this one: (they also have them in other colors, including silver. This was the first color I came across so I just copi...

Re: Daisy XS40 - CZ 200 Service Life
Cylinder safety has been commented on many times here. How many cylinder blow-ups have YOU actually heard of? But on the other hand, "Do you feel lucky, punk?" Not sure about anybody else, but filling very thin walled aluminum cylinders that have been dropped to much the gauge crystal is ...

You said you already graduated, so you can't shoot on a college team unless you go back to that school and still eligible for NCAA sports.ArcherDash wrote:Is it an actual thing? I've never heard about colleges having shooting teams. I'm not sure If I'm a good enough shot to really get in....

Re: Daisy XS40 - CZ 200 Service Life
Andre, Thank you for your help! If I ever compete I wouldn't mind replacing the air cylinder. So is the cylinder safe to shoot at home? Are there reseal kits and are they difficult to take apart and replace the orings? I am pretty handy and know my way around BAM B50/51's and FD PCP rifles. Are the...

Re: Daisy XS40 - CZ 200 Service Life
Co2 cylinders only last 10 years before you can no longer shoot national matches with them, I have seen those zinc/aluminum/ZAMAK bolt handles snap, and the GAMO style sights wear out. Make sure cylinder is to date, carry a spare rear sight and bolt handle and you should be good to go, maybe reseal ...

Sorry I couldn't give more info earlier, I was in a rush to work.
It will be used for both 3p and air rifle, and has to last 2-3 years before I shoot for a college rifle team.
