Re: Anschutz laser power Ii rifle

I thought I would bring this thread to the top again. I see where Anschutz now has a laser rifle that looks very similar to the 1827 Fortner. Does anyone have one, or have experience shooting one? I'm looking for a possible alternative to dry fire for summer training. I'm in a situation where I can ...

Re: Hey Wisconsin Guys...

Ok good, I'm a USBA member. I've never carried the rifle before, but I skied two of the intro races last season, so I'm familiar with the format and have a sense for range procedure. I've got plenty of past ski experience and have shot several other rifle matches, so I'm sure it will be fine. These ...

Re: Hey Wisconsin Guys...

So how will I be able to do the race on the 13th, if the first safety instruction course isn't scheduled until the 14th?

Considering that the post is over two years old, I'm sure it's long gone. Of course if it's not, you can probably haggle the price some more!

Re: Foresight Aperture Size?

Anybody know what mm size the Williams globe inserts are. They are numbered #5, #6, #7 and so forth. I started with the #5 and went to the larger #6. Doesn't seem to make much difference my accuracy, or lack of accuracy. Best I can measure #5 is 3.0mm, #6 is 3.2mm and #7 is 3.4mm?

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....

That PWS rifle is very interesting. I'm assuming the straight pull bolt, reduces the 10/22 to bolt action only? This company looks very innovative and based on the price of the complete T3 rifle, they could easily make a biathlon compatible rifle for under a grand. You would have to use the bull bar...

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....

Nothing. The rear sight ESA uses might be a little higher quality and it has a blinder option. Not that you couldn't fit some kind of blinder to the Savage sights. I believe they are the basic Williams sights? But don't take my word on everything, I'm certainly not an expert in biathlon, but I do ha...

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....

Those Savage sights are not snow sights, but a decent peep and globe sight you can start out with. ESA offers a snow sight kit to retrofit the rifle for about $250?

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....

Savage target model that ESA uses as a basis for their rifles. You're going to have to figure out how to mount a harness and carry extra mags, but you're going to have to do that with any non specific biathlon rifle anyway. https://s3.amazonaws.com/savagefiles/firearms/models/610/RBNIGq6Og_I9XRoszq6...

Re: Anschutz 1827 Bolt Action

Check all the biathlon club websites, most have a for sale column. Do a Google search, there aren't that many in the US. Also check Altius biathlon website. Unfortunately most guns get sold to another club member, before they hit the classifieds.

Biathlon Harness

So I finally got my ESA rifle. Nice rig, but I have a Altius harness. Man that thing is stiff and uncomfortable. Anybody try mink oil or something on them to soften them up?
