Re: Newbie - progression and frustrations

You are doing fine and asking the right kind of questions. Concentrate on "process" not "scores" the scores will come along as you perfect that process, you will do well not to get into "score anxiety". As to the grip yes it looks large for your hands and the Rink grip ...

Re: Filling Steyr AP Cylinders ?

The best fitting adapter works very well as you loose much less air as you manically unscrew it as fast as possible and the threads are no longer under high pressure as you screw the cylinder off.

If you are swaying is it a visual thing and you have a blinder that is too large and your "spare" eye cannot pick out things to use as a reference to enable your systems keep you steady.

Re: Scatt Statistics Goals

The reason why it looks like it is not on your trace is because of the cunning mathematics it uses to predict how your shot would have landed due to your movement flinging the projectile off track after it left the barrel. Turn your F coefficient to zero and it will land right on the on the end of y...

Re: Pardini K12 - low velocity

Splendid and phew! It is really hit and miss trying to advise remotely and is the way of madness at times. Any new spring takes a while to find it's happy place so monitor it and adjust as needed until it settles. Only had a MG1 in my hand a couple of times but have no memory of the rear sight, what...

Re: Pardini K12 - low velocity

To keep you out of mischief till the spring arrives there are some other things to check for low velocity. 1 Is the O ring in the nose of the sliding breech still there or has it been shot down the range, because I've done it when the breech has not been closed properly but I did see it fall out, I ...

No height regulations as you have to adjust it to fit you personally and we are all different. Hope this helps, ISSF rested pistol is taking off in the UK which is nice.

Re: Pardini K12 - low velocity

Brian leave the regulator alone just get hold of a spring and see if that cures it - my money is on it will cure it, don't mess about trying to find a spring of unknown power, order one from the importer in Canada of if that fails Pardini USA as they have them in stock - one is on the way from them ...

Re: Why is Pardini K12 unpopular

I compete and also coach so need backup pistols and have both a Titanium Morini and LP10E to lend and use and you obviously have used both the Steyr and Morini quite a bit as you have picked the right words to describe them both. The Steyr you can feel the micro switch engaging but it feels creepy t...

Re: Pardini K12 - low velocity

Brian don't start pulling it all to bits and worrying - do the simple tings first - change the spring as all springs will slowly take set over time especially if left cocked in the case for long periods. When you have put in the new spring monitor the speed for a while. My Spring lived good and stro...

Re: Why is Pardini K12 unpopular

Regarding the reliability of the K12 over time especially using it for dry fire. I have an early K12 and have trained constantly with it over 11 - 12 Years, must have cocked it for dry fire 3 zillion times, in that time the only problems have been 2 leaky cylinder seals, and a hammer spring that had...

Well done and did you enjoy it? Well you have got as far as hunting out this site and asking questions so you it sounds as if you may have. Well if you got all 60 shots on the target card for the first time in picking up a target pistol - yes you are doing well, did your pals do the same bet they di...

Re: Some guidance please

As you have caught the competition bug can I suggest a way of short-circuiting your problems - join a club that shoots air at 10m, they will have club guns too so you can experience what real target pistols are capable of. What you will also glean from joining a club is how to shoot 10m as there is ...

Splendid sight alignment explanation homework Doug and very clear and easy to understand, also thank you '1963 for the insight of how you approach the task once you can keep your eyes on the sights, this I'm trying over a period of time to see if I can get it to work.

Found the French animation that is realistic to movement of poi relating to the movement of sights over target vis movement of front sight to back, it is after the short introduction.

Take the pistol out of their hands sit them down and explain why it is best not to use the black as an aiming mark / point and why looking at that black blob will stunt their progress - can you list them yourself? To show them how it works - put a large target on the wall and make a silhouette of th...

Re: Defraction, lenses and irises

For brightness use a Grey filter all of the others are used to make the "white" and the black contrast better and normally used outdoors in daylight, everyone sees differently, but those megalink targets use LED's to light them up so will be at a frequency of about 6000K which is the frequ...

Re: Defraction, lenses and irises

Classic - don't do something new at a comp stick with what you have built up with your shot process in training. Work at the low area hold and making your stance produce a Natural point of aim - move about until it is the best you can do, you will slowly "get it" and don't ever look at the...

Re: Defraction, lenses and irises

This is a classic example of what I explain when I'm coaching, the reason you are getting a fuzzy front sight when you aim under the black and the target light is on is because your eyes are getting drawn to the target, and you are not then focusing on the front sight. Turning the light off stops th...
