Re: down de gun without firing
Around the 40% mark (Air), pretty much all of which is a result of me focussing on my hold and trigger release. As soon as I sense my thumb becoming involved (tightening on the grip) when I'm seeking to release the trigger solely with index finger movement, then I lower the pistol and restart the sh...

Re: Shooting AP at 5M Instead of 10M
I shoot NSRA 6 yard targets in the house and 10m targets at the club. My aim point is pretty much identical so there's no need to mess with sight adjustments. Indeed, following a few days shooting 6 yards, I find that my aim 'appears' steadier at 10m than 6 yards. I suspect that the larger black cre...

Re: Rink Grip LP10E vs Regular grip
One thing to watch for with the Rink grip is its width. My LP10E failed a dimension check and I had to do a serious amount of power sanding to get it within tolerance.
Best check yours before going to a competition.

Re: Removal of electronics from grip of LP10/LP50
I had the same problem when I got my LP10E, but mine was because I was switching to a small rink grip. My solution was to snip the spring with a pair of sidecutters, but then take special care not to trap the cable when I re-fitted the new grip.

Shooting with the lights off
I recently toyed with the idea of painting my front sight in an effort to improve my focus on the sights and nothing but the sights... but I didn't take any further as I didn't want to abuse my Steyr. However, while at the club last Monday evening, I noticed that the bulb illuminating firing point 3...

Coloured front sight?
I have been doing more dry firing just recently against a blank wall (10m pistol). The purpose being to ensure that I am focusing solely on the front sight and it's alignment within the notch of the rear sight. However, I do find that the "bull" still captures my focus as I lower the pisto...

No problem, the Amazon.co.uk link is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/HotRox-Rechargeable-Electric-Hand-Warmer/dp/B009IOQWVK/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1418301544&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=hotrox It's not as cheap as the chemical variants, but I feel that it will be much more suited to th...

Hand warmer for 10m Pistol Shooting?
The Air range at our club is separate from the main club house and as such doesn't receive any heating until we shooters arrive and switch on the portable heaters. Sadly it takes about an hour for the room temperature to rise to anything that could be considered warm. When I was shooting a postal co...

You bought the regular LP10E grip right? I did hear of Rink grip failing the box test. I am concerned about that. Yes, it was the regular grip for the LP10E. I had seen posts previously about the switch for the electronics standing proud and causing the pistol to fail the check (Thanks to these pos...

I bought a small (laminated) Rink grip for my LP10E as the medium that I purchased it with was just that fraction too large when reduced to its smallest dimensions (I purchased it with a medium in case I ever needed to sell it again. I decided that selling a pistol with a small grip would limit my p...

Red line (pistol safe) - ISSF specification?
Does anyone know if there's an ISSF specification for the red material that's threaded through the barrel of an unaccompanied pistol to demonstrate that it is safe? We have some red plastic line at the club, but it is quite thin and is extremely fiddly to thread through the barrel as I assume it kee...

Re: Discontinued?
I've got a new LP10E and it does sometimes follow up the shot with a second trigger click, but as it's a single shot pistol this doesn't cause any problems. I've had my LP10e for a few months now and have had a couple of "double" shots. Each time it happened was when I executed poor trigg...

Re: Discontinued?
Those issues do not affect the LP10E or the LP50. I've got a new LP10E and it does sometimes follow up the shot with a second trigger click, but as it's a single shot pistol this doesn't cause any problems. Funnily enough I haven't noticed the second click for the past few days since I swapped the ...

Hi Geoff, The cylinder on my LP400 was inscribed with 12/12. I purchased it in early 2013, so I'm assuming that the pistol was a December 2012 unit (or at least the cylinder was). As you'd be buying the gun over the counter you could check this date before handing over your cash. Just a thought... :...

Ok I'm a Steyr guy but why buy a Walther then try to make it just like a Steyr? I'd bought the Walther as my first proper pistol and shot it for the best part of a year so I was familiar and comfortable with its characteristics, but now having shot the Steyr for a month I actually prefer the extra ...
