Re: Anschutz 1413 or 1407
After the 1407 and the 1413 there was a period of "transition" with the "X" rifles, informally designated as the 1607 and 1613 which had the curved bolt (like the later 1807 and 1813) and the side-safety 5071 trigger which was basically like the later 5018 but had tapered pins i...

Agree.
It makes me want to recycle my aluminum stocks, too.

Re: Anschutz 5018 Trigger vs 5071 Trigger
The other significant difference is that the 5071 has tapered pins in the assembly, while the 5018 has straight pins. This may be of some consequence (IMO) if you need to rebuild/replace parts. I believe that early versions of the 5018 used the same tapered pins as the 5071. I took apart a 1981-vin...

You did not indicate where you are located. In the United States, see the Anschutz North America website, News. http://www.anschutznorthamerica.com/news.html Julian indicates that these rifles will become available in the US later this year. Suggest that if you are interested, contact their dealers ...

Re: Purchased 6 Digit Anschutz Questions
I will only mention that each of the "1613" and "1607" rifles that I've owned had the later curved bolt handle (like the 1813 and 1913 actions). Each had the 5071 trigger with a side safety and tapered pins instead of the straight pins in the later 5018 trigger. The X-rifle bolts...

Re: Bleiker and Grünig versus Anschütz
ehh, Owning an older FWB 2602 I must say the Quality is Outstanding, a close friend, liked my 2602 so much he ordered the 2700, and we agree the Quality of the stock has gone down hill more cast aluminum vs the older machined aluminum parts. his rifle shoots on par with mine though, his factory bar...

Re: Thread specs for Anschutz 1413 trigger screws
The earliest information I have on hand would be for about 1970 to 1977 for all three triggers used during that period. The single stage trigger was the 1408D-U1. Two stage triggers were the 1407-U9, and the 5039 "hair trigger" (has the distinctive double trigger). Front receiver screw (it...

Re: Smallbore Ideas
Yes, and the 1807/1907 is about 2-1/2 pounds lighter than the 1813/1913 Supermatch. Currently there several different stocks available for the 1907, including two with adj buttplates & hooks, and three (4?) aluminum (Precise) stocked versions, plus left hand models. Am a little reluctant to sugg...

Re: Smallbore Ideas
With regard to Anschutz triggers, the 1607 and 1613 (the "transition" or "x models" that were built just prior to the 1807 and 1813) have the 5071 trigger. The differences between the 5071 and the later 5018 trigger are hardly detectable. The later 5018 trigger is found in the 18...

Rebuilding Anschutz
Thanks, always looking for a better (or less time intensive) way to do it.
It still amazes me how well some of the well-used (and sometimes abused) rifles will shoot, with a little TLC and effort.
And, thank you for your efforts to help and encourage another generation of shooters.

Bob, have really enjoyed seeing this here (and at RFC) and appreciate the useful information. My focus has been with the later (16/18/1907s and 16/18/1913s) rifles, but the bedding suggestions could be applied with any of them. As mentioned earlier, it seems better to avoid trying to bed the 07 tran...

1911 links
When building my son's pistol some time back, I used the Colt barrel and fit an NM bushing. Got a link from Brownells after all the other slide/barrel work. It was not too expensive and a lot easier than making it. Think they stock Wilson links in .268, .273, .283, and .288 for about $6 each, or get...

The mental part of shooting
Best thread I've seen among the shooting forums for a long time, Equipment, position, breathing & trigger control, etc. are all important, but it seems like the biggest challenge is between our ears. Positive attitude and ability to focus/concentrate seem to be key. My best shooting was done dur...
