Re: Statement From Abhinav Bindra

I'm not defending any of these proposals, but the constant suggestion of making all shooting mixed gender will not work because it will be dominated by men. Not saying that women can't shoot as well as men, but take a look around your clubs, more men shoot, therefore more men will become top shoote...

Re: Statement From Abhinav Bindra

I was attempting to find out more information about these new mixed gender team events and found this: http://www.issf-sports.org/getfile.aspx?mod=docf&pane=1&inst=31&iist=29&file=YOG_-_ISSF_Rules_for_Mixed_Team_Events_-_Edition_2013_-_Update_May_2013.pdf I do not know how accurate t...

Re: Statement From Abhinav Bindra

I find this to be a sad and half-assed solution. The way to achieve gender equality in shooting is to make all disciplines mixed gender individual events, not by removing one of the most popular entry level discipline (50m prone rifle) and one of the most traditional one (50m free pistol). I sincere...

Re: Double hard point trigger?

I believe electronic trigger systems offer much more possibilities for these type of solutions. For example the type of trigger discussed in this thread could be implemented by trigger position sensor and by using servo mechanism to adjust trigger resistance. This type of system could detect the equ...

Re: Double hard point trigger?

Reading this thread I get the feeling that people are thinking two different modes of operation. Some seem to believe that there is some interlocking mechanism where the trigger must be "pumped" once to set lower trigger weight. On the other hand some seem to interpret the diagram as drawn...

Re: Steyr EVO-10 Extreme Spread etc.

I believe that at least LP10(E) has its regulator set to 70bar. I'm not certain at which cylinder pressure regulator starts to cause pellet velocity to drop, but I tend to change cylinder at about 80-100bar.
I have not bothered to do any velocity or pellet tests since it is me causing those bad shots.

Re: Pardini Conversion Units

SK pistol match has v0 of 281m/s, lapua pistol king has v0 of 270m/s and lapua OSP has v0 of 265m/s (120mm barrel length). I believe this same ammunition would have v0 of 310-330m/s if fired from 660mm barrel. I doubt any standard velocity ammunition would reach 330m/s from pistol, or has anyone mea...

Re: Choice of Pistol

There are also a newer walther SSP and SSP-E models which might be suitable. I also do not believe there is any reason to get a "crappy" pistol if you can afford a proper good one. Which pistol to choose might also be affected by which disciplines you intend to shoot. I am not an expert bu...

It appears that the patent for this new 3D target apparatus is WO 2015047099.

Re: Does Morini Still Make The Factory LP10 Grip?

As far as I know LP10E grips are not, and never have been, manufactured by morini.
I remember reading here some speculation that they are, or at least were, manufactured by Iber.

Re: Steyr Sport Evo10 and Evo10E

Surely a primary cell could have been fitted, but it would probably have taken more of a revolution than evolution in design. My concern is that usable life of these air pistols is hopefully measured in decades, not in years. Lithium batteries have shelf life so one can not really buy replacement ba...

Re: Steyr Sport Evo10 and Evo10E

Any information if old LP10E air pistols can be upgraded with the new trigger? Although I must say that I do not like the idea of a lithium battery. They start to degrade right after being manufactured and degrade faster if kept at full charge. Would much rather have a standardized primary cell on a...

Re: Printable Targets?

I believe one of the issues is length of the paper fibers. Paper with longer fibers tear more easily, such as normal copy papers. Also thickness matter, as mentioned. I have been very happy with targets manufactured by kruger. If motivation of printing targets is price, then it might not be that muc...

On scatt web page there is a D6-19 clamp which should be suitable for free pistol:

I have no idea about it's availability. I don't remember seeing it before so it could be a new product.

Re: Planning to buy a new .22 sport pistol

Thank you. Is there also a way to indentify you got the latest model? Some shops are selling the pistol but i know for sure they got it in there for a while. My SP RF, reads "MOD. SP CAL.22 L.R. - 2014" on right side of the frame. One might assume that 2014 is year of manufacture as this ...

Re: Attaching Scatt to LP10 / LP10E

When attaching scatt I first remove the cylinder and reattach it loosely until I feel first resistance, so that it still moves around. Then I put the metal band between the cylinder and barrel shroud and attach the sensor, again loosely so that the cylinder can still be rotated. The sensor should be...
