Re: Bought a used Steyr LP10, now what?

From a fill-pressure of 150 bars, down to some 70 bars may give you 75 - 80 shots at 150 m/s. (Just based on my experience.)

Re: Show us your Free Pistol

Here's mine - a Steyr Free Pistol.... Steyr Fee.JPG A nice pistol, albait a bit difficult to shoot well. But the experts attain high scores with that gun: The finnish national record in free pistol was set with the Steyr. If my memory serves me wright it was set by Kirsti Kaaro, 568, I recon? Some ...

Re: Puzzle with book authors and copyright laws

About the posture of Ragnar Skanåker: I recall, from my experience at firings points next to him, at some occations at internaional competitions, that his posture was an average some 40 to 45 degrees angle, relative to the direction of target. So the written 37 to 42 degrees in the mentioned book ag...

The stuff people come up with when they have nothing to say but feel compelled to say it anyway! 400˚ circles? Indeed. https://www.google.com/search?source=univ&tbm=isch&q=400+degree+circle&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjV2s6MrurwAhUsi8MKHQ78BooQjJkEegQIHhAB&biw=1536&bih=754 Your ignoranc...

Re: New to air pistol---ordered a LP500

Sorry for my ignorance but, can you fill the tank at the club through a compressor or a larger tank, OR dive shop is the only choice? Nowadays, larger (air)gun clubs in Europe have a high pressure compressor, to charge their 300 bar 10 to 12 litre air tanks. Usually you may be free to fill your pri...

Re: New to air pistol---ordered a LP500

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell, what is "not good"? Yeah; with a hand-pump, featuring a humidity filter, or not, you get moisture in your air sylinder, and hence, moisture into your delicate Walther 500 gun. A scuba tank, on the other hand, filled by a reputable company, contains drie...

A pump? Naah.. been there, done that, - have had 2 pumps. Not good. Go for an air tank, man! Saves you from stuggle, and moisture in your air sylinders (and gun) , and...

Re: Show us your Free Pistol

I am planning to start shooting the Free Pistol this year. I primary shoot the bullseye pistol but shoot the AP for training also. I thought that the Free Pistol could be nice alternative to keep up our shooting skills during the ammo shortage. I am sure I am not the only one here. Show us what you...

So, what are those "different requirements" for carbon-reinforced air vessels? As an owner of a Walther 500 AP I may find that interesting.

Re: Bullseye and competition pistol shooters: Canting your pistol?

... most people have a bit of a cant in the hand position. 20 to 30 degrees. 30 degrees ... that´s quite a lot. I can imagine how a severe cant might induce a shooter to move their head to maintain this alignment. Maybe. Having spent much time at ranges through the years, seen different firing post...

Re: Bullseye and competition pistol shooters: Canting your pistol?

I don’t think a slight cant is something to worry about. A major one, yes, probably because it might lead to an awkward uncomfortable head position . Trying to figure that out: I admit, I do cant my gun to get the most relaxed wrist angle. But I do not tilt my head! Am I doing wrong? I believe tilt...

Ad says "side lever springer". Picture says "under lever springer".
It´s from earlier times, when Hämmerli still made top quality guns.

If we follow that way of thinking, 3 milliseconds wont be of any consequence, and 4 milliseconds wont, and so on.
At what level does it really start to matter?
Adjust velocity way down to 390 fps, to increase shot mileage?
