Re: Real Lock Time, Barrel Time, and On Call.

You might as well keep track of time using one of Salvador Dali's limp watches. Mr/Ms "W" is struggling to give the impression he/she is a well educated man/woman. Apparently he/she is not. Calling upon authority of celebrities like "Salvatore Dali" (translates to Dali, the salv...

Re: Real Lock Time, Barrel Time, and On Call.

If the time from sear release to pellet exiting the muzzle doesn't really matter, would anybody choose a pistol that took a half second to complete the task? A good point. The usual barrel lenght of a free pistol is 29 cm. Similar to match air rifles, a FP could have a shorter barrel, replacing the...

Re: Real Lock Time, Barrel Time, and On Call.

With limited feedback so far, the higher velocity and quicker striker just seems closer to where the sights where when the sear tripped. Let me be more specific: The term "barrrel time": The time from the air pressure starts the pellet moving, until it exits the muzzle. Lock time, to me, ...

Re: Real Lock Time, Barrel Time, and On Call.

Popular PPC match air rifles have a MV of about 180 m/s. Maybe the top competitors with those rifles are not aware of the fact that they may get higher scores with a considerably lower velocity, say the above referred MV of 148 m/s ? Current match PPC rilfes have short barrels, several inches of the...

I don't know about FedEx, but UPS would tell you that if a a 300 pound man can't stand on it, or survive a 5 foot fall, it wasn't properly packaged. Wooh... By german post services the slogan is: If a 400 pound man can´t stand on it, it simply wasn´t properly packaged. Btw, had a FWB wood rifle sto...

Re: Show us your Free Pistol

Yaah.. what actually caught my attention in that photo is that peculiar attachment under the frontsight-assembly of that CM 84 "Gretchen" is holding in her hand. Is it a counterweight, or a compact lasersight? The high heels of "Gretchen" are probably not beneficial to FP scores.

Thanks for posting that picture. Nice. Did you show up at some World Cup with that very gun (or at least that barrel?) (Pimp my gun, but..) For Christs sake, man, it is a true CM 84 E ! Stars & Stripes barrel, -that is ok with me. Found that gun kind of nice, not to mention that barrel sticker. ...

If you empty your cylinder twice, you are an idiot , and that is not an equipment problem. I love phrases like that. Head on. No hesitation. Mr "W" couldn´t better that one. I´m impressed. BTW, who are those "drooling morons"? Members of the, by Mr. "W" designated, &qu...

We need to get the full picture here: lock time/does matter, or course. Imagine what do you do wrong during that brief moment of extended barrel time? Wringing your gun out of line of sight? Probably yes. Imagine a gun of close to zero barrel time/ lock time: would it be beneficial to your scores? Y...

Yes, you learned a lesson. That lesson teaches you to not buy a gun from less well reputed retailer/importer.

May I ask where did you get that custom (?) barrel?
Would have a barrel one, or one and a half, inch shorter than the original 29 cm ( 11 - 1/2")

CCI "standard velocity" (I feel that ammo is standard velocity+, but..). Keep a chamber brush handy. Accuracy of CCI Standard seems ok for training FP.

Re: Show us your Free Pistol

You may get any part for your CM 84 from the world wide net of dealers: https://www.morini.ch/dealers/ 20.000 rounds of .22 r.f. a year? That is a lot of shooting. I may do half that number of .22 r.f. a year, but then maybe another 5 to 10 k with my air guns. FP may "slow you down", yes. ...

Re: Show us your Free Pistol

Spare parts, for å Morini CM 84E?
You will only need a new battery about every 5000 trigger pulls.
That 15 V battery is not rechargeable.
