Rings

Yes, all of our current SP and HP models have pre-cut with dove-tails grooves frames. Are special rings required, or are the grooves compatible with standard weaver style rings? Will something with a built-in weaver mount like the Aimpoint H-1 work properly? The short answer is, "maybe." ...

Ejection issues

Had a similar issue on an HP conversion project switching to .32 ACP from .32L. After numerous trial and error attempts changing and reshaping various parts, the easiest solution was to ever-so-slightly and carefully bend the ejector inward on the magazine. Tilting the magazine protrusion inward abo...

Hornady 90gr WC

Dave, I did test the Hornady 90gr HBWC while building up the recipe for your barrel. (As you know, the eventual winner was the .312 H&N bullet with 1.3gr of N310 which produces consistent 2" groups.) I tried 3 or 4 different powders and numerous tweaks without much success. Attached are the...

Champ2010, All targets were shot from sandbags using a 1x red dot. Shooting a .32 at 50 yards seems to be an entirely different proposition than the 25m game. It is possible, but does take a little homework. I tested two factory barreled pistols at 50 yards, a Hammerli 280 and Pardini HP. Both were ...

Fed .32

The brass reloaded fine, but the factory ammo was definitely 'warm.'

It chronographed at 730 fps out of my HP, which is over 100 fps faster than the Fiocchi, PMC, and Magtech ammo. It was the least accurate of the bunch as well.

50 yard targets attached.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick responses. That's why I love this forum!

Now for the important question - who sells FAS parts in the USA?

I emailed the factory, and they referred me to Airguns of Arizona who denied providing any support for cartridge firing pistols.

Thanks,
Keith

Question re: FAS 607 misfires

I have a new-to-me FAS 607 which misfires about 10% of the time with all types of ammo. The case rim indentations show a strong hit, but a definite bias to the outside of the rim where I doubt there is much priming compound. The rounds feed flawlessly, and the bolt is fully closed every time. When I...

I am also one of the founding members of the "doubling club." Though my electrical engineering kung fu is old, the solution seems simple enough. Put an interrupt in the firing circuit that prevents discharge faster than every few tenths of a second or so. A user adjustable delay would be j...

I can verify most of the posts above. I have dealt with Mr. Carter for about 8 years now, through several new and used Benellis and Pardinis. My $.02: (1) The equipment from both brands has been terrific, but like all gear, not perfect. (2) Mr. Carter's technical prowess as an armorer is top notch. ...

Wilson barrels

I'll vouch for Dave Wilson's barrels. I have an older barrel of his on my Pardini HP.

It shoots sub 2" groups at 50 yards, and I'm NOT real careful when handloading. :-)

98gr H&N or Lapua projectiles with 1.3gr of N310.

Nanny state

Which is demonstrably more dangerous to humans - lead from fired ammunition, or cigarette smoke? How many billions a year in health costs has smoking added? Why isn't that banned first? And french fries, too, those evil little artery cloggers. And while they are at it, how about alfredo sauce, monke...

WTF?

Q: So if you're peddling across the Pacific and then surrounded by three black sharks but one of them is blue, how many pancakes can you stuff in a mailbox?

A: None, because telephone poles don't have feathers.

Building self trust

Steve: I'm jumping in late to this party, but I've got a few ideas that have been rattling around in the vast expanse between my ears for some time about methods to build trust in the hold regardless of what a shooter sees. As you know, we often use technology to diagnose our struggling shooters but...

Matt, Not to be insulting, but trying to gauge interest in an untested product is akin to buying the proverbial pig in a poke. I'm certain with your experience the attention to manufacturing detail will be fine, but my particular Pardini is finicky without much regard to the price of the projectile....

Speer 200 LSWC

Kirmdog: I started using the Speer 200 LSWC about 6 months ago for a 'soft' short line load. Neither my reloading press nor Pardini GT seems to like the waxy lube on most lead bullets, but the dry coating on the Speer works great. No problems at all loading and very little barrel leading.
